Thanks for this! I do believe, looking at it, that my Peak Design camera bag has a strap that is almost exactly the right shade of gray. If so good job Peak Design!

Does it matter if you use a white or grey card? Will the camera automatically know which card you’re using?

Yea, you can use anyone set white balance. I think you can use the black one too

But the grey card you prolly be best caz it gives better skin tones than the white

I recently started doing this because trying to do it by eye just isn’t a great method of approach. When using the grey card, sometimes it gets it pretty good other times it’s very inaccurate it seems. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong but a white balance of 4000k on a sunny day at noon just isn’t accurate. It doesn’t look right either. I end up changing it by eye again anyway.

Don't worry if you don't have gray cards.. sony body cap is gray.. you can use it..

Thanks for this useful video. I am not sure if you know about Astro Modified Camera which is very sensitive to H alpha light. So when we take a night sky at night, the whole image will look pinkish. So how we gonna get the WB right at night ? How Are we going to set a custom white balance in this regard? Do we have to take a photo of grey card ar night ? or just on the day time? Thanks

I want to edit an entire day shoots of a wedding. In the middle of the day the wb says around 5500k in the sunset it says around 6100. Should i change the wb or i should take all the videos on same (5500k) wb?

Will two different cameras see the grey card the same? If a canon is used to photograph a grey card and a Nikon used will the colour balance look same in Lightroom???

Different brand cameras have different colour science so they won't look same but you can colour to look same in post
