No, it's because the VRC7 uses predefined patches (voices). Also, it's 2-operator vs the 4-op Mega Drive, which tbh isn't a big deal, but the predefined patches part means that you can only make one custom patch.

The Mega Drive is the JP/EU Genesis. It has about a hundred changeable 4-operator instruments, which, compared to the VRC7 and its 15 predefined instruments + 1 custom 2-operator instrument, is totally awesome. Also, 2A03 blows SMS away.
