As for the squeeze type type converter, there is a trick to maximize the ink capacity. First dip the nib in the bottle as usual and then twist the sac about 2 and half turns. The main objective is to remove as much air as possible and this twisting the sac ensures maximum displacement. But be careful, do not twist the sac too much. I discovered this technique when one day I got annoyed filling one of my Hero fountain pens that has sac inside them. I removed the protective metal casing from the sac and did it out of a sudden, and bang! I made a discovery 😂😂

I go for the eyedropper method (I have a transparent Kaweko Sport). The cartridge capacity is waaaay too small. Thanks for the tip!

I like the idea of the squeeze converter. I think it's great for people who like to switch inks frequently and don't have a lot of different pens.

I like the the mini converter because since I like to change inks frequently, it doesn’t bother me that it doesn’t hold much ink. I only use this pen for short lists.

Thanks for the Video. I have my 2 Kaweco Sports (brass +black one) and i love them. I didnt know about the your last Version off Fill the Pen.i m not sure i will try that ever, but good to know 👌👍

In converted eyedroppers I found out if you put a cut cartridge in the feed, the pen burp a lot less. It is because it will restrict the ink flow.

The mini-converter and section of the Kaweco Sport doesn't leave one with much to grip on when inserted into an ink bottle to refill. Which ink bottles do you recommend using to overcome this limitation?

An ink bottle with a shallow reservoir will allow you to rest the tip of the nib to the bottom of the reservoir to obtain a better grip. A Sailor 50ml ink bottle with the included reservoir would work well for this purpose.

Is the mini converter better or worse than using the cartridges in terms of volume and ease of use?

For volume, it would be less than cartridges. Cartridges always have the advantage when it comes to ease of use. The Sport converter is fairly easy to use, though.

Would it cause a reaction with the metal to directly fill the reservoir (i.e. option 3) of a BRASS Kaweco sport?

Yes, it would most likely be a one-time filling. Ink will cause the metal to corrode over time and fuze the section to the barrel.

With the eye dropper method is there a big risk of the pen leaking in your pocket?

It's not a BIG risk, but still a risk you should keep in mind. It's more of a concern if you travel regularly with the eyedroppered pen. Environmental heat and air pressure changes may cause a leak when the ink level is lower than 50% of the barrel capacity.

Carry it in a zip lock plastic bag.

Just carry the pen vertically, with the cap/nib toward the sky and the tip of the barrel toward the ground. Also make sure to grease the screw threads AND stop filling the barrel before reaching the screw threads.

Only short international cartridges. They are fairly common and several manufacturers make them - Diamine, Visconti, Waterman, Kaweco, and Monteverde, to name a few brands.

I just don't get it. I got Kaweco cartridges and they seem way too big. I can't deal with anything except cartridges.

It might be that you need the short cartridges Kaweco sells for their Sport pens. You can get them at Amazon, just make sure they say *short* on the box.

@@GoldspotPens I think they're referring to filling the converter in and of itself first and then popping it into the back of the nib. Not the other way around. That's the standard way to do it
