I'm sure your mum is ecstatic with the look compared to how it was when you started on it I have been watching your videos since I wrecked my truck 6 years ago, but still haven't painted it yet even though I am working on it and getting closer. I tried painting a silver bumper cover 4-5 yrs ago and failed miserably. I am taking classes and learning quite a bit with the in person instruction. The teacher shows your videos in class frequently due to how much great info / instruction you provide. I recently fixed rock chips and failing clear on my sister's hood... sorry bonnet. It looked great with the exception of all the dust nibs due to my failure of a clean enough home paint booth build. It is like a tornado of dust nibs, they are all over it, so disappointing. Now I am struggling fixing the dust nibs and polishing so it looks as good as the clear as sprayed.

Great video. I agree, for a quick paint job, it's turned out amazing. Your experience means that you know where to spend the time to get a good finish, and where not to waste time. Would have loved to see your mums reaction! (I appreciate you may not want here on YT haha.. taking all your limelight!)

I also use a Pro-Lite, but I use the T110 cap for bikes, it leaves a great finish, absolutely great gun.

That's come up amazing. I've got a similar job that needs to be done on my 2004 BMW wagon. Bonnet has crows feet all the way through it. And the roof is starting to show it too. You're in Melbourne right? Would it be worth striping the bonnet and roof myself before asking a professional to respray? Both front and rear bars have the clear coat peeling too.....

I scuffed some clear with 600 grit on my orbital for a blend the other day and you can see a sort of stainless steel look to the end result. I think that the 600 I used was used allot on the base colour silver on the bonnet that the clear was on and kind of stuck in the old clear coat on the guard and only noticed it after the new clear coat was applied. I used 3 passes of wax and grease remover with fresh microfibre cloths each pass. So don't use base coat sandpapers on old clear blending areas I would say. Am I right gunny?

That’s the thing , when a car looks that bad, it’s not gonna look worse after being done. Too many purists trying to justify the labour and prices. Wish there was more with your attitude.
