Hi i just got the same pump and when i have it on pulse mode it makes a clicking noise when the impeller stops. It doesnt do it when it starts just when it stops. Do you have same thing with yours?
@SharbucklesReef7 жыл бұрын
Jax Ophalot mine has never made a clicking noise. Check to see that the blue rubber vibration stoppers are installed correctly. If the pump is stopping on pulse mode I would just recommend having if pulse to 10% instead of off

Hi. Is it possible to plug this pump on a timer so that when the light goes off, the pump will switch off. Is there a better way to get it to switch off other than using a timer on the plug? I do not want to lose the settings when the pump is turned off.
@SharbucklesReef4 жыл бұрын
Hareevanan Chandramohan tunze actually makes a product that detects when the light has dimmed and slows down the pump. What I would do is have a separate AC powerhead that you can put on a timer for less flow at night. However you definitely don’t want NO FLOW for extended periods of time

hi can you turn them upside down so its circling the bottom so it will stop tritus forming on the bottom ??

Hi, great video, one of the best I've seen of the 6040. I was wondering if you could answer a couple questions for me. I have seen a few reviews stating that the 6040 has a humming sound, have you noticed that at all? I tried to listen to yours, and I didn't notice anything. Also, have you run into any issues with there not being a guard over the impeller? Again, thanks for the video!
@SharbucklesReef7 жыл бұрын
Cheri Michelle hi Cheri. I did have a pretty noticeable humming noise when it was on the 29g. Now that I have it running in my 65g there is absolutely no noise! Silent. Never once had an issue with the impeller being exposed either.

Would you say this pump is a bit to over kill for a 10 gallon tank? I'm currently looking into buying this tunze myself and would like to hear your output and experience? You know how you said it can jump your water, if I lowered the pump lower then usually? Or maybe add more live rock? I have a mixed reef with about 4lbs of live rock , kinda of a open concept tank for rn. I can add pictures later thanks agagin @sharbucklereef

I think it might be a bit overkill for a 10g. However you could have it running at maybe 10-20%? Give it a shot
