Do you think this would be ok to use on a hairline split on a line coming from my sending unit? You can’t see the split but when I start my truck there’s a fine mist of fuel that sprays out...your thoughts?
@NOBOX7
@NOBOX7 6 жыл бұрын
i would clean the line then apply some jb weld ,then rap some copper wire " a single tiny thread like strand " and wrap it around the pipe and continue to apply jb weld as you wrap the wire , leave a squib out the other end so you can twist it off, basically your gonna make a copper wire jb weld composite.

@@JOE...Leach. hey there Joe, it's been 2 years since that post of mine, and wouldn't you know it, I've finally replaced my exhaust pipe this summer after years of patching the same break over and over. Having used the different pastes, putty's and wraps available at my local advance and AutoZone. Honestly I've had the best luck with water dipped Fiber Fix and the occasional soup/steel or aluminum can depending on size of the hole. Just make sure to sand the area clean or it won't adhere.

As a result of video, I purchased Thermosteel. Not easy to work with, very funky solution after mixing. Let cure four days before starting engine. Initially, after curing seemed fairly strong. Ran engine 4-5 hours & substantial cracks. Do not recommend for any length of time.

This thin is too brittle. It clogs the holes but it won't last. I'd be careful using this thing in any hole before the cat converter since it will send a lot of loose particles forward.

Whew first off MIX THE CRAP OUT OF IT! 2-3 min. Should end up being a consistency of sandy glue. It's an epoxy-like substance. If you're using it on an exhaust system hook your shopvac to the tailpipe sucking OUT thru the tailpipe to draw the material into the crack (IF it's a hairline/small crack). Otherwise use like you'd spread bondo with screening (no suction). Let it sit for 24 hrs. Have used QS and JBWeld and actually like the QS better. Just used this on a plant air compressor manifold and worked perfectly IF you read the instructions and use it on the materials it's intended for. Also PREP IS 99% of the job!!! CLEAN SURFACE!!!

Dang, was hoping either this junk or JB's "Extreme Heat" analog would have the same smooth consistency as JB's original steel resin just bc I was hoping there was a chance it would outperform JB orig. as a *strong* thermal transfer adhesive... No friggin way! They might as well have boulders in these products where thermal transfer performance is concerned & renders them useless for that application. Rats...

i just put it on a small crack in a manifold, it wasent hard to aplly at a 55-ish degree angle so far im pleased but we'll see how long it holds. depending on how big you hole is id dill it to about 1/4" so that this stuff could also get inside and form a lip making it almost like a plug that way its not just gripping the surface, way less chances of it flaking off the exhaust

I think the point is: read all instructions and know what the product is for before conducting a demonstration; which in this case fails, not because of the product but user error. I believe if one is being paid to conduct an experiment with a product then that same person should uphold higher standards and conduct the experiment with regard to the product’s ability. For example: on the packaging the product stated it is for filling in holes and cracks on vehicles.... I’m sure you had the best intentions but unfortunately you might have mislead people to think this product isn’t any good. Now we who are looking for truth about the product, when we stumble upon your video and watch it, leave just as confused as when we came without clarification on the product. That’s the point!
