As much as i love shooting with the smaller mirrorless cameras (Sony A7R3 + GH5s) as they are much easier to pack up and handle all day, I really despise the lack of having built in ND Filters. Having to thread filters on and off slows down the process of filming.
So what I ended up doing was permanently adding these Swing Away Filter Holders to my most popular run-n-gun lenses. When I need the ND Filter, I leave it down, and when I don't need it, I swing it away. I've also added lens caps over the nd filters so I never have to remove the adapter. This is the exact thing I needed to see, Ive been crying about not having a built in nd on my bmpcc4k but this almost entirely solves the problem thank you so much.

Yup, I really hated not having ND filters on that camera, but this solves that problem. Its quick to use, and quick to get it out of the way. Just make sure you get an oversized setup. I have this info on my website.

Nice video. Too bad that they didn't come up with a solution for the Olympus 7-14mm lens though. Also, too bad that Olympus didn't update that lens with flat front lens version (like the Leica/Pany 8-18mm). Any chance that you can update your "DIY" video on the lens filter holder ? Thanks to answer

I suppose this is as close as we will get to a knock-off of the XUME magnetic filter holder.

The Xume is one solution, but the problem is when you remove the filter you need to find a place to put it, like in your pocket. With this, you never misplace it, nor does it collect pocket lint...
