I think it is one of those things where some people are okay with it, and others would like to have a more direct and get to the point video. You know what they say, "You can't please everyone." Video editing software - fyi - -uses about 120-150GB of system memory while running. So. Also KB are smaller than MB

Thank You Thank You. I've been having a heck of a time but I run heavy programs like Logic Pro X and Video Editing software. I actually did pick up a Mac mini M1 to soley be used now for my Music Production computer so that should help take the load off of my laptop.

Bro you saved my life. I'm doing it the second time. After doing it for the first time like a month ago i didnt have this issue untill couple of days ago when this force quit thing started to pop up again, this time it wasn't 10-20 times a day, like it was before I was your video, but I stll repeated these instructions. I don't know for sure. I've never used CleanMyMac. I'd give it a try and see if it works.

I use the cleanmymac app almost daily. It clears out all the unneeded junk etc.

The cache in your Library has nothing to do with what’s loaded and taking up memory. Making stuff up for laughs or views or whatever is pathetic. Usually running out of application memory is due to running more apps than your system can handle, or, something running has a bug that eats up more and more memory. This can happen with a badly coded browser tab or a tab combined with a browser extension leads to a memory leak and subsequent meltdown. Purging cached files is not likely to help. Even if those files were loaded, deleting them from the library doesn’t necessarily delete them from memory and even if it did, that freed up memory is likely to be used up soon by whatever is actually causing the problem. You can find which process is using memory by using Activity Monitor.

It looks like you will have a bit more work to do to get this resolved. You could try contacting Apple Support or see about taking it into an Apple Store. Another option is to check out Apple's Community - discussions.apple.com/search?q=System+Has+Run+Out+of+Application+Memory.

Hi, this didn't fix my issue : (, my issue is with Excel and it's taking up 40 GB and it didn't change after this

Hello. Here are some other things you can try. 1. Try doing a force quit for Excel and any other applications you have running by going to Activity Monitor which you can find by using Spotlight or you can go to Applications > Utilities. Look for Microsoft Excel in the list of processes. Select Excel and click on the "X" button in the top left corner of the Activity Monitor window to force quit it. 2. Adjust Excel Preferences by doing the following: Open Excel. Go to Excel menu > Preferences > General. Reduce the number of Undo levels and AutoRecover intervals if they are set too high. 3. I would do a scan for viruses and malware to see if there is anything that got on your computer that is using up all of your resources. 4. Double check to see how much disk space you have. You want to make sure you have enough free space for your mac to use as virtual memory. 5. Back in the day when I was supporting Macs I would often reset the SMC and PRAM/NVRAM. If you are running a MacBook with a T2 Chip, this is done by shutting it down. Then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. For other MacBooks this is done by shutting down, then press and hold command, control, option and the power button all together at the same time for 10 seconds. This was always fun. I felt like I needed 3 or 4 ands to do all of this. It was like playing twister with my fingers. 6. You could go into terminal by going to Applications - Utilities. Type sudo purge and press enter. You will be prompted for your password. This is going to seem kind of weird in that you won't see any typing when you enter it, but the system is taking your input. Press enter after you are done inputting your password. This is the way to purge inactive memory with terminal. If you are still not getting any results, you may want to reach out to Apple Support to see if they can help you troubleshoot what is happening.

On my keyboard it's the key next to the number 1 in the top left corner. If you don't have that on your keyboard you may need to reach out to Apple Support. You can also use Google. letmegooglethat.com/?q=where+is+the+tilde+on+a+german+keyboard
