The fact that they made it available to purchase only with real currency was like a big "F*** you suckers, pay me" from WG

The apocalyptically hilarious thing is that they try to sell us these lootboxes on the premise that "Hey, it's an amazing deal for gold!", while *in that very same month* proving that if you actually want anything fancy, even if that content is an entire year old, your gold isn't good enough. They keep trying to hammer home the point that gold is worthless while trying to sell it to us at the same time.

Biggest problem in wot is credit sink, free to play players dont have enough credits and p2w players have so much credits that they fire prem only. P2w players have so many advantages in equipment, consumables, ammunution and wg just keeps pumping out tanks with crazy high penetration, with very good gundepresion and no frontal weakness and your only chance of deafeating then is load prem.

Been playing wot since 2012. I've tried to get countless friends to play. The resounding consensus among them is the game isn't fun. And at first I didn't understand this, but looking at the game critically, tiers 1-3 and arguably 4-5 with all the derp guns and seal clubbers as well as tanks at these tiers generally feeling terrible and having erratic gameplay. I realized wot truly has one of the worst introductory experiences ever.

Would prefer to see WG look to cosmetics only (e.g. tank skins) as their business model with this game but don't think that will ever happen. Personally, the issue is for new players trying to pick this game up now. Your P2W or veteran players have such an advantage when it comes to crew skills or bonded/bounty equipment over a newer player. With that gap I don't think you are ever going to see player growth that actually sticks around. Edit: Typo

Giving more free days of premium is bait by WG. By having free to play players see what they could get more often they make the non-prem experience feel more like a grind

I started playing again a month ago because my teenaged son was interested in the game. We have some good nights, but it is often brutal. In addition to the vast difference in skill between new/ returning players and those who have played continuously for years, the crew skills and equipment really widen the gap. Also the community is fairly toxic with folks messaging insults after games. I do still enjoy the game...mostly, but it’s not a very good or friendly experience for new players.

This is so great since I am finally getting to the tier IX IS-3-II. And get to learn from the best.

The rotationsystem did not improve your gun handling. It only improves your hull rotationspeed. The better gunhandling with the rotationsystem compensate the faster turn.

the main thing thats needed for new players is support and encouragement from the long term players, not abuse, sarcasm and negativity b4 during and after battles. 90% of the negative comments iv received is from players with 1000s of games and years in the game. There is an underlying negative core in wot pc, console and wows. Time they left or started to think more positive cos if new players dont stay the game dies. Think b4 u type, you know who u are.

I definitely agree that it feels like second rate currency. The only "premium content" i feel you can buy with it currently is battle passes. But all the OP/new tanks are generally only available in money bundles.

My friends always ask me if this game I play is fun. I tell them yes, but I wouldn't start playing it to be honest. It sucks for new players. The game is World of Tanks.

I havent bought any lootboxes, i dont have excess amount of gold and im not planning on giving wg any money untill the obvious fixes are made. Why does everything about this game have to be focused so much on premium content? Do you think its okay to spend 100€ a year on a game we all complain about at the end of the day. I like the fact that premium tanks are more accessible for free than ever before, but that shouldnt mean buying the premium tanks is the ultimate goal in the game, no wonder the techtrees are mediocre and not interesting to many players. Whenever a new techtree emerges, it introduces a new mechanic which is really neat, but the premium tank introduced within the new branch is way better at that thing than its counterpart. Why would anyone play the is2II or the stII when the 703 is best at this new mechanic and best tier for tier..

Wargaming just said in their Equipment 2.0 tutorial video that the rotational device and vstabs don't stack, because the rotatinal device's higher turn speed also increases the bloom which is entirely annulated by the second passive that enhances gun handling. However the bonus on accuracy is almost completely negligible and the rotation device is more about the faster turn speeds than the "improved" gun handling.

What do you mean gold is meaningless? Gold gets you the battle pass, and the most valuable piece of equipment in the game is bounty equipment that you can move around from tank to tank cheap.

i mean in any game real money will be the prime currency, as it has the flexibility to be able to be spent on any in game purchase. In game currency bought with real money will be less valuable due to it having less flexibility to be spent on as many things, but you usually (or at least is the case with loot boxes) end up getting more bang for your buck with gold for buying in-game items, such as when a new tank is available for gold, ie the advent calendar

My very first game in the 703II was Prokhorovka.

i love the 703's turret, definitely the best looking double-barreled tank turret, and amongst the best turret in game.

I switched from console to pc this year and yeah, it was quite a headache as players were more skilled and maps were played out differently. I kept going and now I have more T10s on pc than I ever got on console, in the end it was certainly worth the switch!

That would be so helpful for new players like mee most of the time I find myself in the wrong flank, if you can make a video about the maps like this is were the heavys are mostly fighting this is were the td likely sit to snipe or were the medium should go stuff like that would be so helpful. It’s appreciated you allowed a game of “chance” where you didn’t select a game you performed well in PRIOR to your published KZfaq video. On another note - of all the frustrations of this game are too numerous to be listed but one of the worst is a gun that doesn’t pen.

I had six pairs of binoculars. After the equipment change, none of them were usable on my light tanks. I had to buy new ones.

For someone logging in after a few years break, the garage menu, equipment selection etc. is nearly unplayable. They've left the casual players behind and I think it's a real shame.

I just hate it. Always wargaming seems to come up with good things, exiting updates, tanks and new things but they always ruining it by just focusing it for making as much money as possible and not making a great and fun game.

Just gave it a go, it's fun but it's also a tad OP - some poor Caernarvon Action X just had his cupola nuked clean off when he was behind really heavy cover and I can't really see how he'd hope to do much apart from tickle me in return given how little time I need to be exposed to dump out a big fat slug or two. Hard to believe this, Progetto, Bourrasque, Skorp G, etc, etc are all the same tier as the likes as the Patton Ripper.

7:20 - While I agree, it has to be stated that the value of credits has been going down too. Grinding out a few mil for a new tank is a lot easier these days than it was before. As a result, the price of equipment has effectively gone down too.

I think one of the problems with wot is just the accessibility and what I mean by that isn’t that it just complicated it’s that you can’t test out anything or get anywhere without dedicating a significant amount of time which isn’t fun for new players

I’m starting wot PC in 2020 technically getting my PC in 21 coming over from console. Been playing that for 3 years. Was a super on console hoping a bit of that translates over. I know PC is a different animal but I’m enjoying myself so far on my crappy labtop.

Even though the Bisonte is basically just a worse 703, I just can't justify dropping $60 on it after gambling for the Italian tank. It's extremely annoying that the gold I got in the boxes is borderline useless too, the only tanks they let you buy with gold are ones in desperate need of a buff or have been available for years.

Could you feature the type 4 heavy and let me know what I should do to play well with it

Personally I've not played the game for several years and am not currently planning on coming back. I still maintain an interest in the game but in the end felt that purchasing premium tanks was being made a requirement to be competitive not only in playing those tanks, but in training crews to the insane levels that can be possible with the right time and resources. Also to be clear I was a player who did purchase premium tanks during my time playing the game and even completed a couple of the mission marathons, my issue ultimately was that the premium tanks being introduced were just better than the tech tree options and in many cases came with op crew members and ultimately it wasn't a business model i wished to support any further. Tier 8 strongholds and clan wars whilst not being the pinnacle of competitive play, was also something i enjoyed along with the tier 10 components, and i felt that it was quickly becoming a premium tanks required area for any seriously competitive play which ultimately i predicted would ruin that tier of competitive play in that people would no longer wish to play it and the scene would become tier 10 only (no idea if that came to pass TBH). I don't plan on returning to WOT until any sort of game reset (presumably WOT 2 if it ever happens) and even then would only be interested if war gaming could adopt a policy of all paid components to supporting the game ended up being purely cosmetic or small progression buffs for those who want to skip ahead a little in tech tree progression. I would purchase cosmetic options and do so in other games i play, a prime example (for me but there are of course many more) being DOTA 2 where i have put a lot of money into the game and never received any power or progression buff in return, nor would i have wanted to.

I personally will think very carefully about getting lots of loot boxes next year (I bought 100 this year). Also with crew 2.0 coming soon, how useful will gold be in the future? We will have to wait and see.

He QB, when I look at the wot video about equipment they say the rotation mechanism only counters the extra dispersion from traversing faster and giving no extra dispersion bonus. Wouldn't be an improved aiming a better option then the rotation mechanism to aim faster?

its easy marketing.... give free prem days so people will come play, make the most of it. there are people who don't play unless they have prem days as well. The thing is though once you get people into the game they are more inclined to spend money on it, check the store for new tanks or even buy gold to unmount equipment. Same goes for rentals, get f2p ppl back into game with the free prem rental to grind out some credits, as well as give a taste of the tank to people who play very often.

I have 100k gold and all premium tanks and basically no clue on what to use gold (other then premium time), which i also have for next year.

I just wanted a decent heavy premium on sale. Skiped 50TP prot. just because i wanted a Defender or Obj, 703.

I was lucky and got the 703-2 in a loot box last Christmas and didn't spend a fortune to do it.

WoWS does it right. My dad play it religiously, while I play WoT, and I’ve noticed that that game is 100x more generous and rewarding to play. The tiers are more balanced, the all chat still exists, the MM is more balanced, and they give stuff left right and center. They sold the Massachusetts for 50% off the other day, gave a T5 BB for free, and have my dad over a month of prem for no reason. If I was t so enamored by tanks, I’d play WoWS over WoT any day of the week
