As long as the buying allows advantage people will buy it no matter how much you cry "Vote with your wallet". Sadly this method doesn't work because we are outnumbered by the folks who need cheat codes and p2w advantage to get their names on a ledger. You can try but you only deny yourself the chance to compete with what they won. I agree and no longer buy this crap but i suffer at tier 8 with most folks always being -2 with op golden crap running amok with the 10's.

Unfortunately the number of players who take this approach pale in comparison to the amount of people who will just continue to empty their wallets. It’s a shame but long as war gaming continues to make money they’ll keep trying to eek out more and more money from the player base.

Useless to ban, people are addicted to this sh*t, people are using vpns to access loot boxes here in Belgium, many complain that we get worse service and gaming experience because of theses bans because we cannot access content, it is of no use to ban if people are just savage consumers that need their dopamine release from playing casino machines.

I'm Belgian and proud about this ban but it's not enough. You can still send the money to somebody in another country (like a clan mate) and he'll buy you boxes as "gifts" for to your account

Tbh, having one rel. tiny country going forward with such a ban doesn't mean much in the big picture. Even a EU wide ban... asians gonna do asian stuff and keep this alive and ready to spill over again in a different (legally gray again) form. I stopped playing around that time probably even more 7 to 8 years, still see QB videos, but even at that time i was just playing arty or derp tanks mostly, i stopped having any fun with the game, i just derped around with my Japanese heavies, played arty to have a chill game or play some strong tanks at the time, then they changed how HE worked and even that fun got ruined. I loved to derp the op tanks with HE being a annoying mosquito.

almost all wot events have been outside my possibility to unlock anything, it requires such engagement, playing 7 days a week 24 hours a day to get anything interesting, its generally impossible for a casual to get anything outside normal tech trees, add to that pay to win mechanics and every time I want to play wot, playing 2 games is enough, I'll already be frustrated of the amount of work this game requires of me, I work to get money, not to spend money on pay to win and pay to unlock games. I might as well just play some rocket league.

It really is not fair to be like that. Trying to collect all of WOT today? Sure. However hindsight 20/20. If one started out playing in the BETA back in what? 2012? And kept up collecting and having fun with the game for over 10 years? Like that is not really such a stupid thing really. Talked with someone showing off their ice bikes they use in their hobby. This was at a car show. NASCAR but riding on ice around a circle track. Fully spiked tires they have to spike themselves and pay for everything out of pocket. Weld the bike body etc etc. Thousands of ours spent on it. Go to events and drive those crazy bikes 120km/h on the straits and 90km/h in the turns. They have done it for 40 years those I talked to. And spent stupid money on it. Earned nothing from it. Only good thing to come out of it is being fit and well physically for someone as old as they are. Yet every freaking time they go out on the ice track they are risking of shutting down there own servers in a accident. That is next level stupidity. Yet I get it. It is fun to drive fast in cars too. $40 a month is nothing. Hobbies are hobbies. If you hoard (called collecting by some.) stupid things? Then you should also know that there are not allot 'like you' that would be willing to take the things you care for off your hands one day. Walked yesterday passed a book store run by a old gentleman and lady. Spending stupid amount of time trying to get their huge collection of books to go to a good home. Having to pay for a shop front and everything. That sounds really stupid. Yet that is life. Problem with this hobby is that they are all pixels. And relying on a sustainable business to keep the game/servers alive. It is greed that is the problem here. By WG. And people not knowing when it is a good idea to actually say no to hoarding and FOMO. It is nothing new to WoT. Have 0 money into WoT. WG have only taken my time. Would be sad to see the server shut down tomorrow. Yet it is even worse if the game is unplayable and abusing people while not even keeping the game fun for anyone. Like truly fun. Not a job to grind stats or pay for FOMO. If your playing the game 24/7 but only enjoy the new content? It is not fun. Simply as that. It is a grind and distraction 24/7.

Did not expect Mihoyo games player here, but that's harsh truth. True gachas give players possibility to use core mechanic of the game which is gacha. WoT is made into gacha but is not true gacha, and that is the problem, middle ground in this case is worst for the f2p and low spenders

They already have a way around this, which is by actually having the lootbox be a slot machine, showing you what comes out of it BEFORE you buy it. But if you want another spin on the machine, you have to buy the first reward. This way you can actually see what you are buying, rendering it NOT a lootbox mechanic under current legislation in the EU

@@GrayVal Uhhh... that's *ALL* games. That's why they MAKE the games in the first place. Their only goal is to keep the players and goad them into spending. Eventually they'll find a saturation point (probably around 6 events a year) where more players close their wallets or walk away entirely than buy in.

Agreed, neither of the two tanks seem worth the potential amount of money required to obtain them. I won’t be buying loot boxes this event.

Amusingly enough most of the loot box tanks rarely pop up in battles except the really OP ones like the BZ and BBQ. I can count on 3 fingers how many times I've seen the must have Tiger-Maus in a battle after the first month it out. I see more of the Token tanks than I do anything else. Prems are all over but the really hyped ones all disappeared. I remember all the crying from ppl who didn't get that Xmas coin game tank (Obj 283), a tank I got perm after 21 rools. Boo hoo, it's rigged, wargaming is a cheat, we should all get one. I played 6 games in it and not it's got 3 feet of dust on it, plus I only saw this tank 3 times in a rando battle since that xmas event ended. The tank was garbage and they still cried over it. I so wish we could sell it to players for gold+creds, I'd be in game rich.

Same here. I would be at least tempted to buy new tanks or even boxes if they had a decent chance to get new tanks (no diluting chances with 10 old premiums). For the last 4 gacha events I just did the math and didn't like my odds...

On Lesta WoT, the prices are much more reasonable, and the drop rates were also better on practice. Aside from the Golden WT, I was able to get everything before the fix to drop rates. I also received significantly more gold, credits, and in-game content compared to any loot boxes from WG.

WG is following in the footsteps of Lesta, but they're making even worse decisions. For example, on Lesta servers, you could get experimental equipment from loot boxes purchased with credits or gold. However, on WG servers, you have to spend real money to acquire this now new Pay2Win equipment.

@@KSA-iwnl- yeah lootboxes might be cheaper with Lesta, but then you gotta take in to account that people in eastern europe earn comparatively much less than in western europe.

2013. 10 long years. Progetto 46 and Bourrasque grind looking back at it... It would be worth having gone ahead and gotten them for free. But you know what? Screw that. When the FOMO of grinding those was around? It was quite a new concept to grind for 'allot' of hours for a OP premium tank. It seemed quite ridicules even now in retrospect it was a f2p dream come true. Yet I'm sleeping well knowing that those tanks ruined the MM for the event. And in general has made the game less enjoyable overall. How much fun would it be to grind hours of your time when meanwhile some gold spamming p2p player is running around in there brand new OP toy? Got a Is3a-peregine from credit action. Grinded TOG-II. Jump Aboard the ShPTK-TVP 100. I'm even mad enough to have grinded the 'BIG Alpha' Tier 9 Premium WZ-114. That you can buy for bonds in the bondshop now? Anyways the point is that 2012-2022 there was a freaking point to the madness. Now? It is the legacy account that makes WoT even relevant to even think about anymore. No new players have any reason to play this garbage. When even a dirty f2p for 10+ years that do not run food or find it fun to dab the 2 key to win? Know that their is no point in trying to play anymore? Since the game is not meant to be fun. It is only a stat and FOMO gatcha whatever game. Who but the whales are the game for? My most played tank is the IS-3. 55% WR. And even when I had the credit economy to fire APCR? I still insisted to play my IS3 without using gold agents even Tier 10's. Happily fought agents IS7's with AP. Happily giggled my rear agents JpE100's. No food, no nothing. Today? Taking out the IS-3 is only to dust it off. There is simply to much p2w and players so hyper focused on grinding stats. Trying my best to play the IS-3 today? It would ruined my WR on it. I'm not gotten worse. The P2W has. Not really the skills of others. Only the P2W and creep of premium tanks. When the arty nerf happened adding stun? That was the beginning of the end for WoT. Now look at HE nerfs. Everything is simply bullshit. Happy to have gotten then IS-3A to replace my tech tree tank. Clearly WoT can shut there servers tomorrow and no one would care. Since there is no reason for anyone else to continue playing this game. And do not let WG or anyone else fool us. f2p players is what made WoT work. Now the f2p players are all tomato's. And there is no encouragement for them to get better at the game. Since it is all about opening your wallet now. Before you would need to get a tier 8 premium to grind credits. Now? You need to buy one just to have some fun and balanced games. Then thrown up agents tier 10's spamming gold at tier 8's even. Like for real this is not even funny amore. And anyone who is tired of 'paying with there time' filling the servers up for the wales/p2w crowd to play with? They have left leaving the game with even more problems when everyone is only there for stats. Not to actually have fun. 36,000 battles. So much time given to WG to fill the servers up. Got like 13,000 battles. I loved to play arty for most of it. My first tier 10 was I believe the French BC 58 arty. Old pre ruined arty was allot of fun to play. There was actually close range combat with old arty. The French autoloader turreted arty was so much fun since you could actually do more then click on a map. I still remember like yesterday when I messed up and missed hitting a death star in the rear. That being with 20m distance between us in a city. Full out medium tactics with a potential of doing 1000damage penetrating HE shot right into the back of a deathstar. Yet the bloom of the gun made it impossible hit the target 20m in front. I do not even remember how much damage you could do in old arty? Was it maybe 1800damage with HE pen? Anyways the point is that arty was dangerous even up close. Possible to do the kind of damage the deathstar was known for. If you where brake and good enough to outplay them in their part of the map. Now you are forced into clicking on a map and stun the enemy. Since you do barley no damage anymore. What made arty so grate was those who actually used the keyboard and game knowable to bare the massive guns onto target in close combat. Old tier 9 French arty actually had armor too! G.W. E 100 still have decent armor. There is noting as fun as playing arty aggressively and outsmarting/outplaying the actual tanks on the battlefield. But some crybabies complain that they sometimes died making there purple made up unicorn stats of irrelevance... Can not handle the fact that they can not p2w impunity. They must have to rule the rules! Since they are unicorns! They do not die. They only farm. So now we can not even use HE to deal with hull down meta. Even now it would have been fantastic if instead of stun arties we had extremely slow and clumsy TD's that could actually take them to task. It would be fun to have arty running around actually being a bigger treat if they figured out how to use the keyboard and muse at the same time. Yet old WoT made it so hard to actually hit anything not 500+ meter away. If there was even a hint of improvement maybe arty players would actually try and play arty more like a glass cannon TD at times. But that would be to fun! And WG only care to make the wales and purples happy. Imagine the complaining if a Cheif or Bobject could not 1 shot a arty rolling up and taking a dump on there hull down tactics. The bobject doing 700damage killing the arty 120m away in three shots. Whiles the arty did 1200damage in a single shot hitting the strongest of their armor. That sounds like teamwork and actually gameplay.

@@TheDiner50 A lot of very good points, and i can agree with a lot of them. I too used to enjoy playing arty a lot. On my old account I had the 4th highest damage on wotreplays with the S-51 in which I had over 1000 battles which was a lot back then for me. I always wish I could go back to 2016 when I first started playing, the game seemed in a much better state then. I also never used to care about my stats at all, I used to play mainly arty (as mentioned) and I also used to do a lot of climbing when that was still possible. It's a shame wargaming removed all the fun aspects. When all the fun stuff went away the only thing left was to look at my stats and seek to improve those, hence I did. That doesn't mean i spam gold in every tank though, I am still free to play and spamming full gold is not sustainable. I usually take about 20-30% gold depending on the tank, and in most battles I don't fire a single gold round anyway. Your comment should really be a main comment on the video though, not as a reply to mine :P. A lot more people would see it then.

Dunno. One or two box events per year is tolerable. However, putting majority of new content in those boxes, then adding 8-10 random tanks to decrease the odds of getting new tanks is worse mechanic than most gacha games (at least they have pity system to guarantee new characters...). I'd say this video is a year late if anything.

I do play WoT without premium account and I have somewhat decent stats. Trick is, not to play tier X. Because that is the tier where you need a premium account, cos otherwise you will lose credits playing this tier, and that's already without shooting any gold. So I just stick to mid-tiers, much more fun.

Man, I played WoT 11 years without premium. But simply I had enough, that's why I quit playing this christmass.

The short summary is that Daki stopped on the track in a blind corner where no one expected it, QB accidentally hit him from behind so that Daki crashed and died. Daki then went on to report QB which gave him a point deduction. Then proper drama ensued. The stream is up on QB's twitch channel, look for a stream from 18 days ago with !EBR in the title. The whole thing is way to long to type out here.

This and the fact that there was never much of incentive to cooperate with other players. All the stats are about individual performance. Medals and gunmarks are only the tip of iceberg. It comes as no supprise that WoT comunity is selfish and alowed WoT to become p2w game with season passes and lootboxes. No one stood up when they were killing the game because no one cared. Except you and others who did. You have my respect.

​@@paulsp2k gacha games (mostly) allow you to have that 5 star or SSR character by just playing the game everyday and it earns you the in game currency that you can roll for the characters. WG is still stuck in the early years of gacha where you can't earn that currency.

Which is not entirely true. An example are the changes to crew over the years. The training level change in this patch. Before that they removed the perk mechanics of BiA. And long ago they made 6th sense a default perk. If it's enough is a complex question. It's not an easy game with many complex mechanics like spotting and armor/pen. But that's on the other hand what helps make it interesting. It's far easier to get into wot than years ago. Still a game and developer with a lot of downsides.

@@ZombieT00f i was being sarcastic about it being controversial, WG is milking the playerbase, they don't care about the "new player" experience or "game balance", the changes they have made are tiny and have no real impact on the game, what does have an impact on the game is the HT hull down meta with the HE nerfs and HTs being as fast as MTs and having 445 meters of view range negating the only advantage LTs have given the map sizes. tanks used to be balanced and have roles now an HT has all of the advantages and the only disadvantage is camo rating
