This first episode of 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗬 (𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝘅 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱) features professional theatre actor 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝗵, who has chalked up over 100 performances to date and is recognized by her peers and community as a seasoned theatre veteran, together with 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗮, founder of RuanAtWorkz Musical Arts (R.A.W.), a charity that promotes traditional culture, music, art and other forms of traditional values. Neil graduated from the prestigious Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and is the first musician from the Conservatory to receive a Masters Degree in Art / Music (Ruan).

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻. As well, Doreen had planned to use the song "Thank You" by Sinéad O'Connor as the source of inspiration to improvise for this performance.

𝗠𝗜𝗔𝗢 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 淼舞 is proud to present 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗬 (𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝘅 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱), an hour long improvisation jam between one theatre practitioner and one musician / sound artist.

Exploring the intersectionalities and possibilities of the sonic and physical realms, the performance project aims to promulgate the concepts of improvisation, exploration, experimentation and collision.

Artists are challenged to meet on the afternoon of performance day at 5pm to discuss their strategies (if any) for the evening's improvisation performance at 8pm. The spontaneity of each unique sharing thus underscores its own ephemerality, for makers and viewers.
