I had trouble getting the old baffles out with my needle nose pliers so I screwed the baffle mounting screw back in halfway from the inside and looped some nylon cord around it to yank them right out.

Cost of the mufflers, then they over charge you for optional baffles. I pulled mine out and made a few measurements, then found $15 baffles and $8 fiberglass off Amazon instead of the $90 ea. from Vance. Buddy has exact same pipes with the quite baffles, and my bike with Amazon parts is substantially quiter for fraction of cost.

2-3 decibels is not worth the cost of the replacement baffles. What you really want is a change in the tone of the exhaust. Some quiet baffles keep that low idle rumble and they eliminate that raspy noise when you accelerate.

This looks like the baffle that comes in the Twin Slash for the Bolt. Is it? Im trying to make the Twin Slash for the bolt quieter than it is.

Well, they certainly made removal of the heat shield look easier than it is.

That quiet baffle looked very similar to the std baffle in my propipe drilled tube with cap on it

My quiet baffle did not go in anything like this video shows. It went in 3/4 of the way and got very stuck and it was incredibly hard to get it in the rest of the way I wound up using a rubber hammer and had a bitch of a time, twisting it just right so that the screw alignment would line up. I think that the fiberglass should be much tighter wound as the ones I got were very “puffy” which made it incredibly tight going in.

Have any baffles that are 2-1/8 OD for evo longshots? I cant find them anywhere.

2-3 dB is nearly half as much sound pressure. These make a big difference over the standard baffle as far as noise go, but they still sound very good. I have stock 2014 Harley Street glide mufflers on my Yamaha royal star venture. I think they look better than the stock, Yamaha mufflers, and they are absolutely higher quality. They are chromed and polished all the way around the muffler. but I wanna make the stock harley mufflers much quieter. They are just too loud, even though they are completely stock harley mufflers. I cannot find a perfect set of stock, Yamaha mufflers to replace my stock Yamaha mufflers that are scarred up from dragging around corners.. do any companies make baffles that I can install in my Harley mufflers to make it quieter. I have heard some Harley motorcycles that are as quiet as the old BMW airhead motorcycles were back in the 60s and 70s before BMW tried to outdo the Japanese by coming out with the K bikes in the 80s.. I have owned three Yamaha ventures since 1986, I have hundreds of thousands of miles combined on those three bikes, my first one I actually kept for 16 years, 138,000 trouble-free miles. my second Venture, I did put Harley road king mufflers on because when I bought that bike used, it had open pipes on it. I wouldn’t even ride it until I located mufflers. I could not find stock mufflers anywhere for the first few months, but I had read that Harley road king mufflers go right on, which they did when I bought them on eBay. I cannot believe how cheaply they sell those mufflers for on eBay. I got a set of takeoffs that had less than 50 miles on them since new for $40 with free shipping.. The guy shipped them to me in his Reinhart muffler box. His new mufflers came in. There are literally dozens of sets of harley mufflers at any moment on eBay for very cheap… I have even seen practically new takeoffs listed on craigslist for A six pack of beer. The guy said it doesn’t even have to be cold. so does anybody know of a company out there is making baffles to make stock harley mufflers a little less loud?

The heat shields take much longer than in the video - the real job is taking the original baffle out after 5K+ miles - stuck in the pipe.

can i Mount the quiet baffle if my pipes are wrapped?

I suffer from temporary minor hearing loss and ringing in my right ear everytime I ride my bike and it's because the pipes are too loud. Vance & Hine's tells me they don't have quiet baffles for my V&H pipes. Now I'm stuck with them and I will never recommend V&H to anyone. Screw a company that won't help their customer.

I don't see where 2-3 decibels gets you anything. I want a very noticeable difference; not something you could only register on an audio device.

I ordered these from my dealer and when they came in I asked them about the nice white packing cloth; was it to stay on or come off. The guy figured it was supposed to come off. I haven't thrown it away fortunately but I did take the tape that was holding it together off. Does the tape come off anyways or is it supposed to stay?

3dB is generally considered the smallest change in sound level that a person can detect. So if this is only 2-3 dB it seems pretty pointless!

Nice. There is subtle difference in sound, but the person who rides the bike for long can only tell. Short stacks are unbearable. I sold my bike just because I couldn't handle the loudness. I wish I had known this product earlier.
