Dear heavenly Father,
As the day begins, I pause in this quiet moment to connect with you. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the precious gift of a new day. It's like a canvas ready for me to paint my dreams and actions.
Lord, I seek your wisdom and guidance as I step into the day ahead. Give me the discernment to make wise choices, the strength to overcome challenges, and the humility to align my will with yours. Let me walk in your light, spreading your love in everything I do.
Holy Spirit, fill me with your peace that goes beyond understanding. Help me stay centered in your tranquility, even amidst life's busyness. May your presence be my constant source of comfort and guidance.
Father, I ask for your protective hand over me, my family, and friends. Surround us with your Shield of love and grace, keeping us safe from harm and guiding us through the day.
Lord Jesus,
I declare you as my savior and redeemer. May your teachings shape my words and actions, so I can reflect your character and be a shining light in the world. Make me an instrument of your mercy and kindness today.
Open my eyes to opportunities to show compassion and generosity to those in need. Let your love radiate through me, touching the lives of others. Thank you, Father, for the breath in my lungs and the opportunities this day brings. I aim to honor you and bring glory to your name.
As it is written in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Father, I give you all the praise, honor, and glory. In Jesus' name, I pray.
Amen.
Do you follow God's will and obey His word? Obedience means aligning with God's will, which is revealed in His word. Many of us associate obedience with expecting a clear, audible instruction from God, similar to Old Testament encounters. However, what I'm talking about is obedience in the sense of having access to God's word.
The question is, how many of us actually follow it? How many of us obey the instructions found in the word of God? Obedience and faith are intertwined; they cannot be separated. Faith is essential for obedience, and obedience is possible only with faith.
The challenge lies in the fact that God often doesn't provide all the details, a roadmap, or a blueprint. This is intentional; He wants us to have faith. Consider the example of Abraham when God tested him. The command didn't come with a full explanation, emphasizing the connection between obedience and faith.
In Genesis 22:2, God spoke to Abraham, saying, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."
Abraham's response was remarkable-he displayed willingness and obedience to sacrifice his beloved son, even though he didn't fully understand why. Notably, he didn't attempt to reason, negotiate, or complain. When God spoke, Abraham obeyed without hesitation.
Imagine the positive impact of embracing such an obedient spirit in our lives. How beneficial it would be to adopt an attitude that says, "If it's in God's word, I will be obedient."
For instance, if Matthew 5:39 instructs us not to resist an evil person but to turn the other cheek when slapped, or if the Bible warns against the corrupting influence of bad company, obedience calls us to heed these teachings in our actions and choices.
Similarly, if God's word encourages constant prayer, instructs us not to fear, or urges us not to be anxious, our objective should be simple: believe and obey. The lesson from Abraham's obedience to sacrifice Isaac teaches us the profound impact of unquestioning obedience to God's word.
