The GoPro Quik App has been around a while but has now replaced the standard GoPro App, a lot of the features are the same but the screen set ups etc are slightly different
In this tutorial I go through all the settings and what you need to change in order to get the best footage out of the camera
If you have a GoPro then the Quik App certainly makes using your GoPro much easier easpecially if you are a beginner and a lot of the functions on the GoPro can be controlled direct from the Quik App!

Hello, thank you for a very informative tutorial. Some things have changed regarding settings buttons and such, but your tutorial was comprehensive enough for me to extrapolate what you were doing with the updated app. I was initially turned off with the app since it was shilling for money via subscrptions and in-app purchases. I just wanted to get to the camera pairing, settings, modes and such. Your video showed me how to get to the nitty gritty of controlling my camera, thank you very much!!!

Thank you for the video mate. Very in depth and informative!! I have subscribed for a year with the app but I am having trouble with downloading it to the cloud? It said that I have unlimited cloud storage but I tried to download some footage from scuba diving yesterday and a pop up said my phone may not be able to store the files due to shortage? Good looking out my man, very helpful. Just picked up the Black Hero8. Very excited about getting better acquainted with it. Really need to up my tech savy and do better maintaining my phone. It never allows me to do anything with my footage. Says I'm out of storage but everything I do fails to fix the trouble. Tempted to factory reset😢😤😠😡🤷

CAN I do this with a windows 10 laptop as well? OK to make it simple could i use it as a back up camera , NOT on phone but using a laptop. Clearly seems like tablets and phones do, but i want to buy a laptop while i am driving and be able to see what the camera sees, doesn't need to record just need to see blind spot. (wirelessly)

... The Quik app says, "This app is not available for your device." I have an android phone. Samsung 7 by Verizon. Why will it not allow me to down load it. Also, trying to find, Quik, through the Google Play App Store, Quik does not even show up. I found it by doing a search in my browser but like I stated, it says at the bottom of the Quik screen, "This app is not available for your device." Any help from anyone would be appreciated. Hello - I am have paired my GoPro to the Quik app, but when I click Control my GroPro or View Media, it is getting stuck on connect to your camera's WI-FI. I am not sure why because my phone is connected to my GoPro. Any ideas?

Sometimes you have to pair the gopro to your handset from the GoPro itself 👍

Why does the Quik app call the edit Trim when it's more accurately a Keep. You select what you Keep, not what you Trim off. I've watched several YT videos now on this topic and they all gloss over the Trim function. Are there any shortcuts to select to the end of the clip? I had a 18 min clip (I know, too long) and scrolled and scrolled and scrolled to get to the end. No jump to end? It's not obvious. Is there a way to Save over the original vs Save new clip?

I don’t think there is a quick way to jump to the end of the clip. Have you tried pinching and resizing the timeline?

I am going to buy a GoPro. I thought the app was to edit the videos but sounds like you need to set up how you want to film. Can you film then edit the video later? Like can you film something then edit to be in slow or time lapse motion?

You don’t have to use the app to film. You can set everything in the GoPro itself, this is just another tool 👍🏻

Max resolution output on the Quik App is 1080P so to get the best results I’d try to use 1080P footage. I think the app will struggle with any video higher than 1080P tbh

Hello Which factors matter to get long duration? For example, one full music, lasts about 5mins. How do we get 5mins duration? Thanks in advance.

@@richardhutt5472 it’s specifically designed for editing on the go on your phone. There did used to be a desktop version but I don’t think there is anymore?

currently yearly A$34.99 to subscribe to GoPro. Says that this includes Unlimited use of Quik. However, There's also a option to Subscribe to Quik A$14.99. Am confused to whether I must subscribe to both quik and gopro or just GoPro (and this will include quik?)

Thanks for the vid. I record band rehearsals, I do a song at a time so 3-4 minutes long. When I try to share with rest of band it’s always file too large. That’s email, text, messenger, signal etc. I don’t really want them public as it’s just to review and improve. I reduced to 720. But need your help. Thank you.

@@neilcollinsrecording email, signal, fb messenger, text. The reason I’m useing GoPro is sound although not amazing is better than a phone. I’ve had GoPros for a long time but don’t use it a lot but don’t remember it being this har to share?

I’ve been trying to to find this answer for days and you ALMOST touched on it! Can you power your GoPro on from the app? I’m thinking of mounting some go pros around my venue for streaming but they’re going to be in hard to reach places so it would be nice to be able to turn them on remotely.

Seems like it should be a simple answer but it is tricky to find! I don’t think you can turn gopros on from the app, I think this has to be done manually unfortunately?

@@neilcollinsrecording I was actually able to get my hands on a Hero 7 and got it to turn on remotely with the app! It might only work when the camera is plugged in external power but I left it turned off for over 24 hours and hit “control your GoPro” on the app and the camera turned on!

@@tylercorbin1323 that’s good to know, I’ll be trying that out myself! Not sure how it works but guessing the GoPro must be in a standby state all the time?

@@neilcollinsrecording I’m a little shocked myself... I don’t think it’s in standby mode because it doesn’t turn on when I touch the screen or press any of the buttons. But I’m assuming that the GoPro doesn’t turn off wireless communications when it’s plugged into external power because there’s no need to conserve battery power?

Just got the 10 last night. It will only connect using wi fi, not my cell signal. And it sees about 20 of my Facebook Pages, but not the one I want to go LIVE to. Why is that ?

Not sure tbh. I haven't used the 10 so not sure if there are any issues with the Live feature etc? Sometimes new models take a while to get rid of teething issues

You should be able to start / stop recording from the app? Is the GoPro connected to the app?

I've just bought a GOPRO Hero 11 with the intention of using the Quick Desktop. I have now discovered that the desktop version of Quick is no longer "Under Development" ?? After a bit of research online it would appear that this App has not worked for a considerable length of time or if ever at all. GOPRO will still happily sell you a new HERO 11 though but without making the buyer fully aware of this situation. I'm now stuck with an excellent camera but without a way to edit my footage. It's a bit like buying a new car but then being told the engine management software doesn't work! This is really poor customer service especially when I'm paying a subscription for something that I cannot use.

The desktop version hasn’t worked for a while. It depends on what sort of videos you want to edit. The Quik app is only good for short 1 minute edits anyway, there is plenty of other editing software out there, some free, Videoproc Vlogger is a good one 👍🏻
