I saw this band live in St. Gallen in Switzerland in 1961. They played all these numbers there as well. It’s great to see them again now.

Is that a young Clark Terry on Moanin'?? Can't recognize other musicians. Oh, a really young Phil Woods... holy cow....Melba Liston, an underrated all-round musicuan. What a great group! Fantastic video. This might be his Masters or Doc. Thesis!!

You probably know also the drummer Joe Harris. He was in Dizzie Gillespie band and played with Charlie Parker.

Is this the band he took to Europe and went bust? Really sad , but Q decided to stay in France and study composing, arranging, etc. For 2 years. When he came home, he was ready to 'diversity ' and do a lot of writing. The master. Be well , Q. 💜
