She seems pretty selfish to me. Very self-involved very I feel sorry for myself. She walks with crutches isn’t she lucky she was walking at all.? And her mother is getting all weepy and everything and he totally ignores her mother and her sister. I don’t think the disability cause that I think she probably was a very cold self-involved person to begin with. And now she has this disability and she’s crying about it. She doesn’t want to fuss so I get a wedding gown at all did she think nobody in the registry office is going to look at her? Yeah I feel sorry for her I feel so much sorry for the people around her

@@celeste7532 “isn’t she lucky to be walking at all” Wait...what? Just because something isn’t a worst case scenario, doesn’t mean it isn’t still hard as hell. Put like this; think of the worst thing that ever happened to you. Now think of something even worse. Sure, you’re going to be glad the second thing didn’t happen to you, but that still doesn’t negate the actual damage that was done by the first, right? Losing a disc in your spine that takes all feeling from your lower body, to the point where you are no longer in control of your limbs, along with a separate stroke, all in the same year, is not a simple or easy thing to recover from. Not physically, mentally or emotionally. For anyone that would be catastrophic because it would upend your life, in multiple ways, very quickly right? I think the fact that she agreed to go on national tv anyway, showing the reality of her physical disability and baring her own very personal insecurities in dealing with it so that other people who identify with her get a chance to see someone like themselves on national tv looking beautiful, is pretty amazing in my opinion. Because I don’t think I would ever leave myself open and vulnerable like that to strangers because i know how easy it is for someone watching to assume something that may not be true. Just my 2 cents.

@@celeste7532 she doesn't seem self invested, the opposite infact. She looks like she didn't have much confidence, wasn't happy and trying her best to make the others around her happy. She wasn't ignoring her family, she was obviously a bit uncomfortable in her own skin, which no-one should be. Also at least she can still walk? Really? There's a stupid narrative in society that people, especially disabled people, always have to be 'strong', but the reality is that it is a disability, that came out of the blue and flipped her whole life upside down. It's okay for her to not be okay. Sure disabled people can and are strong. But let's stop perpetuating the idea that they have to be thankful, happy and 'perfect' 100% of the time. Your rudeness and lack of empathy is quite shocking to me. I hope you can re-educate yourself.

It’s really understated how important it is to be “sneaky” (quiet) about what your own personal wishes are, and let your children express themselves.

She’s honestly so beautiful. Not only is she physically gorgeous, but strength is one of the most beautiful traits in a person. Maybe her strength shows differently than others, but she is one strong and beautiful woman. I am glad she saw that even for a second. I love this series & it breaks my heart to see these gorgeous women doubt their beauty.

Speaking as someone who has been with my partner for 10 years.....my depression has nothing to do with a surplus or lack of anything he can give to me. He's upset that he can't make me "happy", but he does make me happy. I am depressed regardless of life situation. For me I suspect it's chemical. I am on medicine now and have never felt better! I do hope she finds what works for her🥰

She has had an entire year of crappy things happening to her physically that have left her with physical deficits that will be with her for the rest of her life. That's enough to wear anyone down, no matter how much of a fighter they are. You don't recover mentally and emotionally from a year like that overnight. It takes time to recover, not just physically, but emotionally as well. It seems as if she started out with low confidence even before her physical battles as well. She needs help and I hope she takes steps to find someone who can help her mentally and emotionally to become her best self possible.

A girl I went to school with, an athlete, a health nut - nothing toxic or non-organic ever passed her lips - suffered a major stroke, followed by a grand-mal seizure, at the age of 23...she's been gone 35 years now. Who's to say that her weight gain is not a side effect of her injury and stroke, as she no longer has the same mobility as she had prior...and who's business is it anyway, unless you are her doctor, "it-scott-nunya"...

I loved the black dress on her. She looked so elegant in it. The pink flower appliqué dress was definitely a wild card but it too looked splendid on her. It gave her a bit more color in her skin, which will enhance the glow she’ll have on her wedding day. I’m so happy for her to have found the man and dress she loves.

I really relate to how she feels. I was diagnosed with 3 completely life changing chronic illnesses this last year and I completely lost all confidence because I have to rely on my partner so much. I can barely walk for 5 minutes so I am totally dependant on him. Our situations are different, but I understand and empathise with the absolute loss of confidence, because when your body fails you it’s really hard to think nicely of it. I’m so looking forward to my wedding but I’m terrified it’ll be hard because of this. She looked absolutely stunning though and I’m glad she got some confidence back. Experiences like this are so important for self esteem, and I’m glad she got that x

Wishing y'all the best!!! And I totally understand. When my boyfriend and I first got together, I had weight loss surgery. He had to step up and take care of me during the first part of things. He got to see a side of me I wasn't ready for him to see. Buuuuut three years later, we live together, and he supports me (free rent/utilities, use of his truck when my car goes bad) while I'm in school to become a surgeon. Not exactly the same, but I still understand how exhausting it is having to depend on someone you love.

She is so strong, but you can see her struggling with depression. When she said she "It's always that fear that something might happen", it really hit me hard. After having a cancer scare, I was first relieved when the biopsy was benign, then completely thrown back into anxiety when they told me it doesn't match how the tumor looks and that they could only tell after surgery. Having feared for your life takes away that security. Even months after surgery, I still expected the phone to ring and the lab to tell me: We've been mistaken, we found something. I really hope she can recover from this over time.

"People just shrug it off like you're still here, you're lucky" If I had a dollar for every time someone told me "it's just rheumatoid arthritis, it isn't like it's cancer, it won't kill you" (um, actually, it probably will) or "you're so lucky you can still walk at all, if I could walk I would no matter how painful it is, why are you using a wheelchair?" (um, did you not hear me say *IT IS PAINFUL* to walk??), I would be a millionaire. I feel this woman's pain with every fiber of my being. To have your pain and struggles shrugged off or downplayed because "others have it worse" is a horrible feeling.

I am 37 now and I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at 13 a ton of specialist and therapy and I still live with it. I understand the struggle. I am like her my disk went out years ago and I don't have full feeling in my feet anymore.

I so wish I could hang out with them. I love the way Jo always has her arm on Al. Such a sweet bond they share. Wish I could be lucky enough to display such confidence. Dude shes literally so pretty, she's absolutely beautiful. Her eyes are gorgeous, on say yes to the dress I see a lot of weird looking eyebrows, but hers are 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡, her hair is beautiful, and her legs and her walk are just as beautiful I hope she is super happy

I have a similar back issue. I walk with 2 canes for a few feet when I can but mostly I require a wheelchair. I'm also over weight but am losing that. I've currently lost 125 pounds and still going. My tipping point was when I had an ulser rupture just below where my stomach meets the rest of the digestive system. I was told if I was an hour later to the emergency room then they would have received me as a dead person. That terrified me! I was in the hospital for almost a month and I've been recovering for 6 months with 4 more to go. I started watching this show on here. I love these ladies! It's all their fault that I have fallen in love with the idea of a wedding dress. When I was married we wore our Sunday best but nothing too fancy. I don't own anything fancy. I have just had a couple dresses for holiday or church gatherings. I had never seen myself as someone who could have this luxury because of the weight and the back issues. The more I watch these ladies work with these brides who are so similar to how I felt about myself, the more I can see a vow renewal in my future with a beautiful dress. I've never even allowed myself to consider that before. I've never so much as touched or held a wedding dress to look at it, let alone try one on. I always said I wanted a casual super small wedding. Nothing fancy. That's what we did. Just us, the preacher, and his wife as a witness. Now I really can see a beautiful dress in my future. Thank you for helping ladies like me see that they are beautiful and worthy. Your work is more meaningful than you know. 💗

I loved the dress she chose. It looked great on her and especially with her hair color. It's really nice to see a shop catering to plus size brides and having lots of options. Usually you get one or the other.

I wish I could have someone like Jo and Al in my life to just HELP me with my wardrobe. I also think that would be a good show for these wonderful women, going in and helping women up their wardrobe to compliment their body types and help give them a more confidence boost!!!! 😊😊😊😊
