After a standout ambient showing on Unbeyond Anthology One, QVEST returns to the label with their new dual-sided concept EP “Oneirosyne”.
Taking the form of two projects, the main EP and the Dreamstate version, QVEST explores point-of-view narrative with these soaring ambient masterworks. While the main EP delivers a darker, cinematic experience, the Dreamstate version contrasts that with calm bliss, the two EPs collectively creating a whole world that is easy to find yourself lost in. QVEST’s impeccable song-writing chops are on full display, and the result is one of the standout ambient releases of the year.
“In creating ‘Oneirosyne’, I wanted to challenge how I made ambient; incorporating more organic sounds and spoken word to better tell a story. I created Oneirosyne to be the protagonist of the EP; the goddess of stolen dreams, asking the question: Would anyone reach out to an author of dreams after they died?” said QVEST. “The dreamstate version is these same events through the lens of the dreamer, dreaming without distortion and words interrupting their fantasy.”
