being someone who was trained on an electric typewriter, from many reviews i’ve seen, this machine doesn’t sound like a TW. the keys clacking actually reminded me of the keyboard in the Apple IIe from early 80s.

Can this one also get wired or it has to be bluetooth all the way?

Can you add shortcuts for additional letters on the keyboard e.g æ, ø and å? Additionally if you use an iPad?

Theres a keyboard on kickstarter called the Penna that uses cherries and is much cheaper. wonder if its any better

Have you seen the Azio Retro keyboard? Similar style but much more affordable. Seems like a pretty nice product.

that macro bar thing is nice touch. It's wirelessness is a plus too if you're going to cleaner desk with dat classy look but the spacebar kindaa stands out compared to the other keycaps. It seems like the biggest downside is they're kalih switches, which is a bit offputting at 350.

those scroll wheels instead of scrolling the page up and down ,it would be cool for a volume wheel or both one one each side.

The scroll wheels do work--they scroll pages and turn volume up and down. Also, you can find it for $70 on Aliexpress.

Initially I thought that this attractive but expensive machine would also produce a hard paper copy as does/did the old fashioned typewriters. This would be a welcome and convenient alternative to internet printing as well as a way to fill out the price point.

Not a bad looking product but they should have really usedthe Kailh Cherry MX Green equivalent where the actuation point is 80G to give it that supposed typewriter feel.

Kailh switches. $350 dollars. These guys think we are morons. If they actually used high quality components to go along with the high quality price tag, it may be worth buying. All I am saying is they chose the cheaper switch to save money, but they double dipped with a premium price tag. That makes them scumbags.

By the way I tried this out in a shop the other day it is the most comfortable keyboard I’ve ever typed on

Great review, and it's certainly a beautiful keyboard, but the real stumbling block with the Qwertkwriter, at least to me, is the price tag. $300-ish is a bit steep for what essentially is a nostalgic retro gadget. If you really want the typewriter feel and action, why not just go out and buy a real typewriter and save some money? Admittedly a real typewriter can't surf the web or link up to a tablet or a smartphone, but that's why you have the tablet and smartphone in the first place. On the upshot, a good manual typewriter is wireless (literally), and needs no electricity at all to spit out hard copy text, just some muscle power and a good ink ribbon. Plenty of good used examples out there to be had (my '49 manual was $40 on Craigslist, helluva deal), and new ones are still being made.

Looks very nice. Although I reckon it'd be a dust magnet which will be a nightmare to clean!

After a lot of practicing, I can now touch type, but I really want to improve my speed. Got any tips? P.S. I love your videos. Keep up the awesome work.
