I’m Vietnamese and I just can see Traditional Chinese character on pagoda. But now many pagoda not using Chinese characters anymore and using Chữ Quốc Ngữ instead. Vietnam likely have their own alphabet named “Quốc Âm Tân Tự” ( it different from Chữ Nôm ) but it was born during late Nguyen dynasty, the situation at that time is very chaos 😢

re-teaching chinese in vietnam is the best joke i've ever heard, our script was born quite late so it almost overcomes most of the shortcomings of onomatopoeia, can say vietnamese is 1 of the most perfect sets of onomatopoeia in the world.
4:18 correctly there were motions two times. but 1st motion was some intelligent group merely insisted it, and almost all people did not even know about their activities. 2nd motion was caused by the ghq instruction since they contended kanjis were so complex. they recommended abolishing use of kanjis gradually, and it was not forcible but gentle because its so difficult to change the mother tongue. however, media such as newspapers and publishers continued to use kanjis. so the instruction faded away. almost all people did not care about the instruction because the highest priority was how they got daily food. please note that the fact is the japanese have never ever tried to abolish kanjis.
Why was Qin Shi Huang the eternal emperor? At that time, Qin Shi Huang realized the importance of unified writing, making others think of China when they saw the text.
