Great video, and very good points of discussion. I wanted to add that on top of conflict driving tribes apart, disease also plays a large factor. Going back 5000 or 10000 years, if groups of humans with drastically different climates/habits/medecines were to come in contact, there was a high chance that diseases which one group had resistance to would completely eradicate the other group. This is shown in the animal kingdom, although not to the same extent as it's less common to find extreme differences grouped under one species (without involving cognizance). That said, disease was most definitely used later on as an excuse to justify racism. The same way racism was used as an excuse to justify slavery. While I understand how these small factors raise the tension around discussion (especially from a postmodernist's point of view), I think that to shut down or tune out an opinion without hearing it out is madness. Thanks for this, very useful insight.

I feel multiculturalism is the problem. When you look at other countries, it’s usually a unanimous agreement everyone’s from that country regardless of where you were from. A black man in France isn’t an African-French they’re just french. In America everyone’s categorized differently and there’s not really a unifying culture. African-American, Latin-American, Asian-American. being realistic, having multiple cultures in one country doesn’t work because a lot of them contradict each-other and don’t mesh well with western society. For example in the middle east, it’s blatantly obvious there is a gender dynamic that doesn’t work in America. Someone, regardless of race, bringing that culture to America will more than likely feel out of place not having authority over a woman like they did back in their native land. And since America has little to no emphasis on assimilation. They’ll probably hold onto that idea while in America.

I agree as far as forced multiculturalism by the establishment. That should be discouraged. Instead they take naturally evolving multiculturalism and rebrand it as cultural appropriation further dividing people who want to come together

First, you are merely stating a fact that I've long arrived at through self-study. I am racist, as are >95% of all people worldwide. That just means that it is human instinct to categorize and pre-judge strangers about whom they know nothing. BUT I've figured that out and always try hard to overcome that, INCLUDING being willing to openly dislike jerks who don't look like me. What is not much of a problem in isolated tribal societies IS a huge problem in our multi-ethnic society. There are three categories of racists. 1) like me, knowing and fighting against it, based on it is ALWAYS a mistake to assign characteristics to strangers based solely on their external appearance, and because of harm it is my duty to oppose strongly people who do. 2) like me, BUT unwilling to oppose openly/strongly people who do. 3) active racists, usually just acting out other damages in the way they were raised and needing to be made aware that their racism makes them socially unacceptable. 2) and 3) are equally to be condemned.
