A crime that this album did not win the Mercury Music Prize. It was clearly the best offering...

How is this not more popular? This came on randomly the other day and it stopped me in my tracks. Discovered this song a week ago but have played it about 25 times. The last 2-3 minutes are literally-just- no words can describe it

This album is her masterpiece. I mean she's still doin' good but this record will probably be a "forever underrated".

I hardly ever make any comments on the youtube...but I could not keep it to myself you know .... I mean, a full-time clown-esse, a profound composer, a poet, a psychologist, such an ironic visionnaire, now a sublime director, and just a small detail- a fashion trend setter .... Female David Bowie, David Lynch, Fassbinder.... WHAT A HUMAN BEING! ^_^

(One of) the most creatively complex, artfully understated and diverse/interesting solo artists in "popular" music of the last 2 decades. Róisìn and her collaborators know how to plug into our universal microbiome and bring back realign beats, concepts, visuals, rhythm and phrasing that most artists out there sacrifice to the monotony of fame, fortune and fashion. Her song and accompanying video 'Simulation' says it all.

This song reminds me of my amazing, gentle, and sweet old friend, who disguised himself as a cat, but he really wasn't. I still cry. This song is so perfect. As always, Roisin Murphy is as brilliant a lyricist as she is a composer/ musician/ singer/ fashion dragon.

Still gives me that same feeling as when I first heard it on headphones in a park in Thailand last May. Played it so loud and just let the tears steam down my face for no reason at all. Just pure emotion. Thank you Róisín. Come back to NYC!!!! We adore you.

good Lord. How great is this? Restraint, elegance, fun, melody, art, literature, cinema, pop star, artist, audience. She's seducing us with her charm, pop culture sorcery and sparkling ideas, just as a novelist pulls us in and delights with a story you can't put down. (Or a filmmaker does with cinema.) And those looks into the camera!

I mean… everything Róisín is brilliant, but this is my absolute no.1. It’s timeless magnetic charm is indescribable, and its certain simplicity transformes into it’s captivating and immesurable beauty pretty much uncompareable to anything else. And with each listening it just gives me an absolute bliss.

This is my favorite song on the album. The most beautiful song of 2015!! This was also her strangest music video yet. Not quite what I was expecting for such a heartfelt song. However, as with all of them, it is visually captivating. Love her dress!

Fassbender 2015. Love it

Very intricate and seemingly indecipherable video. From 2:55 and onward I really feel the video syncs with the lyrics, music and voice over. It's very beautiful. For those of you who might feel the video is too abstract, I can point you to a couple of areas of interest; modern German and Italian cinema (50's-80's) are especially evident as heavy influences. The song itself is about the correlation between literature and human interaction (in very broad terms). Therefor the video might also be drawing on specific characters from European literature as well, although this might be too much of an assumption on my part. The video is still very cinematic in its composition and thematic material though. See for example the structural effect of the very first sequence and the very last; These revolve around the camera being present, as well as the time stamp included above when the camera comes into focus, and the thing our female lead whispers in the ear of the camera operator (or literal film maker) - whereas the inner projection of the image is evoked and the circle completed when added to the lyrics of reading someone's mind (in which the film, in this meta-structure, is also being reviewed in both German AND Italian). I myself see two very specific sources for inspiration: the cinema of Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Federico Fellini. I hope that might serve as inspiration - because these directors are definitely worth the trouble of making the acquaintance :)
