If you cant do what this guy is doing, no matter what genre you play, you aint got shit, mans sat in a field probably got a car battery hooked up to the amp, and no auto tune or fx in sight and he kicks ass, people need to learn a bit from his example. Music about expression not fancy equipment, he could probably make music with anything he wanted and it would be better than todays si called talent, a true artist

This is such a good demonstration on how most American music derives from the blues. Soul, rock, funk, you can feel it all in here. But the real thing that strikes me is that he's likely self taught on the guitar (based on his technique) and plays with incredible feel and rhythm.

I saw RL in Newcastle (Australia ) in the early 1990's after the release of the "Deep Blues" documentary. He played with other artists at a club venue which was only 3/4 full. Audience consisted of university students and old Blues enthusiasts like myself. At the end of the night he played an encore and the whole venue shouted for more. He asked what we wanted to hear - The answer was "anything". He was so unassuming - signed autographs - talked with audience members. It was a great show - but RL was the star.

He's like John Lee hooked his guitar is the drums the bass and guitar all at the same time. Then he sings on top. They don't make these guys any more. He was the coolest musician I ever met. Hung out with him for 3 or four hours partying after one of his shows. I think I became a better musician just by sitting next to him. So cool that guy.

R. L. Burnside (November 23, 1926 - September 01, 2005) was an American blues singer, songwriter and guitarist. He played music for much of his life but received little recognition before the early 1990s. In the latter half of that decade, Burnside recorded and toured with Jon Spencer, garnering crossover appeal and introducing his music to a new fan base in the punk and garage rock scenes. ✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️

This is an old folk song that has been around since the 1800s, though modified from artist to artist the original recording was released by Gus Cannon(banjo/vocals) and Blind Blake(Guitar) in 1927, on side B was "He's in the Jailhouse Now" (Also the first recorded version) by the same artists.
