I'm Malaysian Tamil. Proud Hindu amd Tamil. This is such a wonderfull interview. I've learned so much from Dushyanth. Big fan of him from now on. I am surprised how much previllage the minorities have in India. Try live as a minority in a Muslim majority country.. you will have no rights.. and you will be living like 2nd class citizen. Save hinduism and Tamil.

yes brahmins are the minorities in india and across ages have had the privileges of a higher community for what joy? every human is equal and higher doesn't depend on one's birth. Stop treating and thinking brahmins are higher than others. they are simply not. dushyant is steering topics not answering the questions correctly. If you know real history you will get to know it. Rama was a meat eater.

I've been watching Saravanan for a while now, and I find his hypocrisy disturbing. His interactions with Shri BR Srinivasan, Shri Rangarajan Narasimhan & now with Shri Dushyanth Sridhar are glaringly biased & combative without logic. When asked about why the gov doesn't interfere in churches to bring about equality with regards to appointing women in higher positions, Saravanan feigns ignorance & pretends not to understand the equivalence. When asked about why the gov doesn't interfere in mosques with regards to entry of women,he cites adherence to their holy book,but doesn't accord the same privilege to Hindus to follow their agamas. Trying to hide his biaseness,he hides behind "minority rights". Seriously?? Minorities are the ONLY ones with rights? Saravanan,you need to introspect,and figure out why there's so much hatred in your mind for Hindus,their culture&their religion. Shri Dushyanth Sridhar, as usual, in his inimitable style, have very clear explanations. Love listening to his upanyasams. Excellent orator.

Mel 1 second ago @dushyant well its best if he uses it to eliminate caste discriminations in society instead of propagating to keep brahmins as top class society in hinduism. useless thing to do. no one is higher or lower to anyone. everyone is created equal. if he eliminates the caste discriminations created by his ancestors, then he is doing something useful otherwise no respect for him to uphold brahminism as higher. waste of time and energy.

Very true..Saravanan is feigning false ignorance and even supporting the discrimination against women in abrahamic religions. He makes obnoxious attempts to even support the discrimination by abrahamic religions saying that their texts support it..But he has problems with Hindu texts..Shows he is are very very biased..He even tries to say that there population is very less..Does he not know that Muslim population in India is bigger than many of the so called Gulf countries where they have opened up for some reforms. And at one place he says counselling for infidelity..Now a simple hypothetical question will these people who are sshooting foolish questions accept and encourage infidelity of their spouses? Just for sake of criticising rAma they say non sense, unfortunately.

Look at how calm he is when answering or placing his argument. Saravanan and Jagadish sometimes get tense when placing an argument. Nothing bad. Just an open observation and solid proof of his belief and practice has good results.

@@Mel-by7re It’s not up to Dushyant Sridhar to eliminate caste discriminations. It’s up to the politicians that want to keep it alive. So you should your questions at them. I can’t see a single evidence of a prominent brahmin undermining or discriminating other castes. But I see hundreds of evidences everyday of people of various castes indulging in caste discrimination leading even up to murders or riots. Still, for people like you, it’s always the Brahmins only because they’re an easier prey. If you really mean what you say, look honestly at who’s continuing to discriminate based on castes and fight them.

Great discussion. Always pleasant to watch Swamy Dhushyant Sridhar's speech on any topic. These two part posts will be an eye opener for the youngsters like Saravanan and Jegadeesan. Today's questions were not rude. There was no interruptions too. He is in his mid 30s but his knowledge and wisdom on the topic is commendable. Lord Rama avatharam is the only avathar where he doesn't use his godly super powers, lived as a normal human being. Lord Rama has gone through a lot, forest life, his beloved wife was kidnapped, he didnt get to live happily with mother sita even after her rescue. To even build a temple for him in Ayodhya ,he has to wait for 500 yrs of which 200yrs of legal battle. When ever I go through difficult times in my life , I always think even lord Rama didn't have a good life. This gives me hope and resilience. Lord Krishna is a feminist and it takes time to explore deeds/virtue of Krishna. Excellent interview Dyushanth ji. Great work PTP team.

well its best if he uses it to eliminate caste discriminations in society instead of propagating to keep brahmins as top class society in hinduism. useless thing to do. no one is higher or lower to anyone. everyone is created equal. if he eliminates the caste discriminations created by his ancestors, then he is doing something useful otherwise no respect for him to uphold brahminism as higher. waste of time and energy.

@@sudhar889 first of all sanskrit is only 3500 years old and it came from indo aryan/Avestan language along with its aryan people as per history and fact checking. indians existed in india way before that with their own regional languages and culture. very well civilized society existed here and it was not hinduism here in India at that time. Hinduism is a way of life made into a religion slowly. it's probably only 2500 years old. and these nomads who moved into india started fire ceremonies like Iranians who followed Zoroastrianism. so appreciating older scriptures and older practices than these which was prevalent in India at that time is a wise thing to do than adapting to Iran's scriptures and culture of casteism. the older culture and language that existed was of the ancient Tamils by the way if one doesn't know the basic history in case. Asura and Devas is a concept from Zoroastrians. not from ancient India. we lived with nature, our festivals are related to nature like Pongal, harvest festival etc.. not of revenge and killing of asuras like the puranas say, neither of putting down women. its important to weigh all this scriptures along with historical facts how a language, religion cameinto the country. It will make it very clear what to take in and what not to.

@@Mel-by7re Boss nobody's here to dispute any of these points here. What dushyant Sridhar is trying to clarify technical details with respect to what is there in Ramayana and Mahabharata. Including quoting verse from scriptures to show how people were following Dharma include All 4 varnas. Here neither one is superior nor other is inferior. There's no caste system as such to degrade downtrodden people. So get a clarity and replicate your thoughts. Infact he was quoting more Tamil pasurams only if you have watched the interview fully.

@@Mel-by7re The best part about Sanatana Dharma is that it looks at everyone as equal. It doesn't force anything upon anyone's throat nor does it engage or encourage proselytization. DS had clearly stated that discrimination should not be there. Also, DS had defined the meaning of Brahman as one who goes in pursuit of brahmam. A person rises above everyone based on his conduct; I subscribe to this view. For me anyone who realises the pursuit of life, will be above everyone. The best part about this person is that he will not even bother about how he gets classified. Your point is correct inasmuchas discrimination should not be there, but differences will exist, a fait accompili.

@@rajans2504 well if we see history of sanskrit it is not even a language of India. it was from Iran's indo Aryan/Avestan language. Rig veda is from it too. so whatever is said in sanskrit scriptures has to be taken with a grain of salt for sure. they say sanatan dharma but many brahmins have acted as higher and think themselves as higher. no one can deny this. and in rest of non brahmins also its subconsciously ingrained as the suppression has been there for ages.

@@Mel-by7re It is slipping onto some other topic which requires further analysis in terms of geography. Christianity was a religion exported from the west with vested interest, with long term agenda to spread this across, through proselytization. Similarly, Islam was something which came to India through invaders. So if you talk about geography, all of these are debatable. It requires more analysis as the entire indian (other than Dravida desha) is classified as Indo Aryan. We need to explore more to understand & debate this. Believing in vedas is upto one and is cannot be insisted; this is similar to my non-belief in Christ, which i think was a story spinned from the life of Krishna. Brahmins were never vested with authority to rule eventhough it is stated that they had influence through bureaucracy. However, I would say that in case there has been discrimination by whomsoever, it is condemnable. You cannot conveniently classify it as Brahmins vs Non Brahmins duel as there are other communities who assert themselves as superior / upper class. I leave it to your conscience to think if this is right or not. If it is ingrained conscientiously in the minds that Brahmins are superior, I think this has to be overcome by self confidence, education and by good demeanour. For me irrespective of caste, creed or religion, Superiority is by conduct and character but not by birth.

I agree if he works hard to eliminate caste discriminations in society which is the biggest evil for India or any society. but he is doing talks on Rama and krishna who are first of all not ideal characters if you look at it. they are controversial characters in mythology.

but he isn't acknowledging the fact that manu smriti and other scriptures were written to highlight brahmins as higher class and casteism and its discriminations started with these so called scriptures. he is using his smartness to steer away from reality which isn't a good thing.
