Sir, if we don't use boxplot then how can we find that males are longer than female using Mann-Whitney U test...?

I thought if you were measuring the same bird again that would be Mann Whitney U test, no? Wilcoxon test is when they are independent.

Mann Whitney U test (or Wilcoxon rank sum test) is used for independent groups, as in the example. You are probably referring to Wilcoxon signed-rank test, which is for dependent observations.

what if the length of your groups were different? let say there were twice as many females as males? how would you account for this?

Although ideal, equal sample size is not a prerequisite for this test, so no need to correct for it
