If it helps anyone, the "spider tent" was covered in daddy long legs, also known as harvestmen. They are a type of arachnid but not spiders. They can bite but are non venomous and their bites barely hurt (a lot of people like to say they can't bite but they can, I have been bitten many times. Good news is it's just a small pinch and their bites don't really swell up, as their venom isn't dangerous to humans)
