Who Is Vakresvara Pandita? A Great Vaishnava Acharya and associate of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who could dance in Harinam Sankirtan for continuously 72 hrs.
He is originally the member of Krishna's chaturvyuh, Aniruddh. One of the gopis of Radharani, Shashirekha has also entered in him during this appearance. Shri Vakreshvar Pandit was appeared on fifth dark moon day in the month of Ashadh at Guptipara Vilage near Triveni.
Vakreśvara Paṇḍita, the fifth branch of the tree, was a very dear servant of Lord Caitanya’s. He could dance with constant ecstasy for seventy-two hours. (Chaitanya Charitamrit Adi 10.17)
"Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu personally sang while Vakreśvara Paṇḍita danced, and thus Vakreśvara Paṇḍita fell at the lotus feet of the Lord and spoke as follows." (Chaitanya Charitamrit Adi 10.18)
“O Candramukha! Please give me ten thousand Gandharvas. Let them sing as I dance, and then I will be greatly happy.” (Chaitanya Charitamrit Adi 10.19)
"Lord Caitanya replied, “I have only one wing like you, but if I had another, certainly I would fly in the sky!” (Chaitanya Charitamrit Adi 10.20)
