Signs of life - introducing «Lost Tapes»:
Upon renovating our arctic chateau here in the desolate north, we came across an old sea chest containing an abundance of rare B-sides, exclusives - & even some previously unreleased tracks. We thought the only right thing would be to make these «hard-to-find» tracks available for those of you who prefer to stream music. So therefore we’ve created a playlist called «Lost Tapes». The Playlist will be updated as we go, make sure you subscribe. All obscure tracks will eventually see the light of day.

Just what is that emotion when you think you have finally got over your grief at the loss of your best friend only to find them knocking on your door asking if you fancy a coffee? Damn guys, there is tears and deep emotion here - the kind that hurts so good. Royksopp will never die. Respect and love.

So. Tiny bit about myself and my thoughts to this track and royksopp in general. Usually i listen to some underground hiphop genres, drum and bass when i go out or for sports, some dub and a bit of techno, alot of jazzy sounds. And then there are some random musicians, as royksopp, which are there for certain moods, for the very special moments - just when you need it. For me Royksopp has alot to do with memories, but also with very accurate and innovative, experimental electronicmusic. And they just know what they do on a high level. But besides all that, i know I got some problems, mental ones, not really serious issues, but i struggle alot to focus on my life, to really do something for myself, without only doing it for someone i like or for the impression i'd leave behind. It feels like losing sight on myself, constantly trying to do something to not have to think about myself, my future. It all may seem pretty normal to the outside, to friends and family, but in the inside I'm having constant thoughts, which I don't want to reveal (again) to anyone outside myself. I know therapy, or just "talking" to smn who knows how to deal with such problems, would probably help me, but something holds me off. Now THIS specific song, and some few others like "higher place", "sparks" and "i just dont understand you" help me so incredibly fast to find to myself again, even if it's just for some hours, it helps focusing, finding clear thoughts and just truely feeling, what or who I am, and what I need, to see into myself. I'm always f*cking astonished over and over again how music can affect a humans mental and emotional state. Thanks Royksopp ;)

can i just state this on here, for the record: according to my dad, when i was 3, i could put a beatles song on the turntable and would stand in front of it, "dancing". in the 80's, i was a club d.j. through the whole "new romantic" era. visage, ultravox, spandau, etc. i have had a lifelong love affair with music, which continues to this day. The reason i mention all this is so that you guys know how serious i am about my music, especially now as i'm an old dude closer to 60 than 55 unfortunately. ergo, 54 years of musical appreciation. so, make no mistake when i tell you that i am a serious music buff, i know my stuff. ive been making tapes, then cd's for friends for decades now. i am constantly posting videos from youtube of acts i love on my FB feed, turning people on to what i consider top shelf music. When i mention all this, it's so you understand the strength behind my statement which is: Top 10 of all-time for me. You guys are truly gifted and amazing musicians. My introduction came a bit late. Before the trailers at my local multiplex (i'm also a cinema buff), they played ads, one of which was for telus phones. I came home desperate to find the music track that was used, which was Royksopp. Since then, i have tirelessly collected your music, forwarded on your videos to my FB page, spreading the gospel that is Royksopp. I was devastated that you guys had decided to hang it up, i felt there just wasnt enough music out there. I needed at least one more cd, would have loved 10 more over the next few years if that was possible, but at least one more. Also, I need a high-def concert video, so i can relive the live show whenever the urge takes. Can i therefore just say, a huge, heartfelt thank you, to you. For the brilliant music you released. for posting this gorgeous piece for us. for all of it. Nothing brightens the mood than when i take a sunday drive along the waterfront to niagara falls and back, a nice twisty 1/2 hour drive each way, with Royksopp blasting through the speakers. Bliss. Pure eargasms. Being in my top 10 of all-time, given my 54 years of musical appreciation, says a lot. I truly thank you for gifting us with your music, which has touched me so closely, for so long. Regards, S. p.s. as i'm old and suck with computers, for any of you younger ones on here who may have read this, how do i d/l a track off youtube into my itunes folder? i want to listen to this piece and add it into my Royksopp folder, but dont want to get a virus on my mac. I dont illegally d/l, which is why my itunes folder has thousands of dollars in my "purchased" list. I want artists to keep creating, which they wont do if theyre broke and everyone just d/l's songs. If this were available to buy on itunes, i would, but as it's only on here i cant get it. not sure how to do it. Royksopp should release this for us to purchase, or be able to d/l onto our computers from their site or something. appreciate any help.

There's youtube to mp3 converters out there, a quick google search should be able to help you out. There's a lot so it's hard to go wrong. Also, your statement here truly touched me. I'm only 20, but I grew up listening to this band. My dad was also a D.J. so I spent most of my childhood listening to electronic bands. Royksopp always stood out the most. I still remember the night that I listened to The Inevitable End. I cried, because to me, that was the end of something that, I feel, grew up with me. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story about how Royksopp was so important to you. May you have happiness.

I like this, it had a dreamy sound to it. I'd love some more of these lost tapes to appear, it's like a musical history book that was almost forgotton about after being on the wrong shelf for too long. Spotify has the songs on a playlist I've subscribed too, I hope soon it will be many more than 2. Thanks for giving it us for free.

Great ! Hope you find more. And, please, for when a new Tour ? I'm living near Brussels and will certainly attend. Unforgettable, your concert in the AB Brussels (too long ago). Though i'm 74 now, I will be there
