Here are the automated announcements for the 6 Train being rerouted to Brooklyn and along the eastern parkway line all the way to New Lots Avenue. The 6 Train Normally operates between Pelham Bay Park or Parkchester and Brooklyn Bridge, but this was a special rerouted train that went all the way to New Lots Avenue on the 3 and 4 Lines. As of January 2019, there are no R142s on the 6 Line so this is a glimpse into the past with these announcements from Pelham Bay park to New Lots Avenue via Pelham Local / Lexington Av Local / Eastern Parkway Local.

Dezlite Never say never. You just never know some times. The number 9 train was discontinued in 2005. There might still be some R62A trains that be used as 9 train.

Apple Plays R142As on the 6 ran on the line to make service, but after 2010 and the whole R188 contract, coupled with the need for more service, they took 380 cars from the 6 line to convert them to R188s on the 7 line. As a result, the 7 line R62As made a triumphant return to the 6 line for the first time since 2003, and with the last sets coming onto the 6 line, the rest of the R142As went off to better places, and this allowed the R62As to provide additional train service to the 6 line and the growing areas of South Bronx and Eastern Bronx (areas where the 6 line is their only subway option, even though in Mott Haven, the 2/5 is a few blocks away).
