ᴴᴰ R160 E train via A and C lines to World Trade Center - Automated announcements. From 207 Street.

Here we take a look at the automated announcement program recorded off a rerouted E train bound for World Trade Center from Inwood 207 Street on the A line.
From 207 Street in upper Manhattan to World Trade Center in lower Manhattan via Central Park West Local / via 8 Avenue local.
Although 168 st station is open after the repairs on the 1 line portion, the announcements are not updated as of January 2020. It Still announces the free 1 train transfer at 207 street and doesn't mention the 1 train at 168 Street.
The announcements bound for 145 st / 168 st and 207 st all are glitched and just say " This is a Manhattan Bound E local train"

Those B/D to 207 Street announcements don’t sound half had with the E’s “the next stop is / this is” portions. Too bad those versions weren’t used for the rest of this route option.

That Subway & Bus Enthusiast yes it went to 145 since 6 Somthing to 11:48, that was the last E to 145 that left WTC

This route is the same as the original A line which opened on September 10, 1932. It ran from 207th Street to Chambers Street-Hudson Terminal (later Chambers Street-World Trade Center and now just Chambers Street). Which begs the question: Now that the World Trade Center has been largely rebuilt, why doesn't the MTA add "World Trade Center" back to the station's name?

@@MrRailfan Trust me on this, on the lesser used programs, they would just leave it alone. the ones that are commonly used, it will get updated. Good example is how the (Q) mentioned "via the Second Avenue Line" when the (Q) was extended to 96th Street. AFAIK, they only recorded the (Q) announcement to 96th Street. When the R160's entered service, they hadn't started building the first phase.

This version says "Inwood-207th Street" but A doesn't. Yeah that make a whole lot of sense 😑😑😑

Maybe the free transfer to the 1 should stay because sometimes the 1 train can’t go to 207th street because of construction.

Most likely not. Maybe 20 to 30 years or more in the future.

@@tuckthepuppy2517 they havent even started working on the extension to 125 st yet. The T would be the full route from 125 st to hanover. I doubt they would even finish just extending the q to 125 st by 2030 so the T is years away.

The 1 train station was closed due to elevator repairs. Its re opened now but the transfers havent been updated

The whole entire via Central parkway programs been in the system since 2013 and hasn’t been updated yet, which is highly sad asf, and also why don’t they just use the B line station stops all the way till 72 Street

No matter how anyone slices or dices it, the NTT's are not all that consistent. The R179's on the (J) still has the B91A transfer at Marcy Avenue. Whoever creates these programs has one job and they failed. I could do a better job.

From what I have observed over the years, people rarely ever notice the announcements. They exist merely to satisfy the American with Disabilities Act.
