That train was used as a put in at 86th st and sent back to 86 as a layup to CIY for the 36th St put ins on the R for the PM.

This was about 8:47AM for the R160 N train and 9:19AM for the R160 W train i swear this one was one of my best catches yet

Yeah they might be sending the R160s to these lines only in morning rush hour maybe

Is it a sign R160 returning, or R46 got fucked up so bad and it's no longer in service?

Nah the R46s will stick around but they will probably send some R160s to the N Q W lines from the the R line

The R46s are still going to be around since they have 2 years left in them. If you see a random R160 running on the N or W line then it’s usually because one of the R46s is undergoing Scheduled Maintenance Service (SMS) therefore a R160 set is borrowed from the Jamaica Yard to fill in for that R46.
