thanks for the guide, i did also want to mention for future swappers that i was able to cheese the driver side rear view by keeping the mirror on the unit. i guess my spade connectors were too rusted together, so i was able to keep the mirror on while I took out the housing. for the passenger side my spade connectors for the mirror heater were able to be removed, but good luck if you plan to do the same, i don't think its possible.

So how have they held up in the rain without a seal? Afraid to wet the other circuitry in the mirror. Maybe sealing the plugs in silicon would be the trick?
