I've been watching this content since the game came out. As a casual gamer especially for FGs since super Nintendo I don't understand the whole MK1 hate. I love playing tekken but watching it feels like the game hasn't changed that much since Tekken 3. Maybe it's just me. Can someone explain this to me?

Mk gets hate because they try to innovate and make every entry feel new. Fighting game fans are a bit iffy on that because though it sounds good on paper, it also means new stuff to learn every new game and different combo routes and unfamiliar mechanics for the same character in two different games. For example, scorpion plays a lot differently in mk1 than mk11, so scorpion players who might have liked his gameplay in mk11 might not like it in mk1. I can't say the same for tekken. Sure some strings change, a new 50/50 here and there but a character will play essentially in the same type of play style. Kazuya in tekken 7 and kazuya in tekken 8 will have a similar fighting plan.

@@dhruvlohumi3995 well of course, always a pleasure to talk with another mk fan. Though do keep in mind that a lot of these mk is dying vids do have several valid points. Though I contrasted the essential basics as to why some people don't like what mk does, the recent launch of mk1 hasn't been smooth. Lots of glitches and bugs, which has boosted a lot of the usual hate that mk gets but it's still a treat to play and watch this game imo. Get on to twitch definitely, different feeling in watching there

I almost joined the gaming industry as a professional gamer in India but now I'm just a little disappointed with the whole industry. Do you think the MK1 bias also happens because it's perhaps the only major non Japanese FG?

R1P just thinking of a couple things. Going into bracket make it that you have to pre select you three fighters cannot repeat characters on the main can use same cameos. Or even having brackets where all matches are random select. Want variety? There it is. Want to test even top notch players? Get good at the game in while not just one character.

These lower tier character matches are all the money. Its not just that in high level you usually see only the same 4 characters with the same cameos, its also an issue that most of these characters are terribly boring to watch.

rip we need a a full 16 player tournament but the conditions are they have to use a character from the bottom 20% of characters. then we see the players skills and will make for the best viewing

meh... li mei + frames are fake, unless li mei player can punish pokes with 400+ combo. All her + combos starts with HIGH, so if she staggering you with that, just mash d1, if she grabs or try to stagger again d1 hits, if she do something else d1 hits, only thing that she can do is block after + frames :D ofc she can mash ex db3 cuz its faster than your poke or armor...but come on who does that after + frames? :D
