Yao Chen belongs to the same company as BOY STORY, he is very close with the boys since they were all trainees. He made a cameo in the "Handz Up" video while he was still a trainee. In 2019 he joined "Produce Camp" (BOY STORY even recorded a supporting video for him where they also invited everyone to vote for him). In the end he managed to enter the top 11, being able to be part of "R1SE".
