Me and a bass player have been having a go at YYZ and what is true for us, is that finding someone to do the guitar locally has proven to be near in impossible.....so Dave's point makes sense to me (it's amazing how many guitarists say "oh, Rush, no probs" until it's time to play and then suddenly they can't make the rehearsal ;) 😅 true stuff...

Geddy and Alex spun around on him with a "HUH??" kind of look on their faces and Neil just pulled his head down into his shoulders with an "opps, i farted" grin on his face. the thing is, when gods mess up, it reminds us we're all human :-) RIP Neil. we miss you so much.

This clip is the perfect encapsulation of Rush: the God-poundingly tight musical proficiency, their obvious cameradie, love for each other, and often overlooked sense of humor. A priceless piece of footage. We will not see their like again. And l suspect this was the encore and maybe Alex had toked up a bit but my God, what a tour de force for him. @@michaelgeisdorf6641 Thank you Michael, I appreciate your reply. This was a special band - very special - and I know that all RUSH fans who truly appreciated this band and their depth, and their genius, and all they gave, and everything about them as personal people individually, and how much they appreciated their fans in how much they supported them - will never be lost on Alex or Geddy - never! This was always personal with RUSH with their fans - as it is with us with them. There is not many bands that has that kind of personal impact with their fans as this one has enjoyed. I think that not many do today. I always knew that if just one of them was gone, or quit for some unbelievable reason - it was never going to be RUSH again. I am thankful they remained together for as long as we have been blessed with them. But RUSH now belongs to history as it should be - but my 21 year old son cut his teeth on them and was raised with them. Long Live RUSH!!!!!!! May God bless you and all you love.

Dan Campbell they were indeed special. I knew they were something special in 1977 when I got my first Rush album and heard 2112 for the first time. BLOWN AWAY! I listened to that album over and over and each new album that came out I’d “Rush out” to get the next installment. But it wasn’t until I was on a US Navy destroyer in the middle of the Mediterranean that I really appreciated Farewell to Kings and drowned myself in Xanadu that the extent of their talent really set in. At my first port of call I went looking for a record shop and bought Moving Pictures and thought that there was no way they could top the recent albums but man was I wrong. ......... Now I’m getting old and I am moved with emotion listening to their mastery wishing I had seen them more than just once live. They will be remembered as the most talented rock n roll band in history!!

When your bassist and drummer are the GOAT, it just gets a little weird. But, let us all Surrender to Alex's amazing and underlooked guitar skills! (BTW we would all sacrifice our first borns for a chance to play on that les paul)

In 1979 & 80 I used to travel 230 miles between two cities for work, I'd drive at night and blast LaVilla Strangeato full volume and put the pedal on the floor, a fantastic HiWay flying song! Thank you Alex, Geddy and Neil, RIP brother, see you soon!

all of these musicians who started in the 60's are dying off mostly from old age.Touring is a hard life and being a musician 24/7 was even harder. So, they are worn out by 60. Any more years after that is gravy. Which explains why Paul McCartney takes such good care of himself and has for years.

A bloody masterpiece! Alex shows us how to play a beautifully melodic, technically superb solo. The three masters are in top form. Rush shows us what it is like to be at once a comedic and iconic rock band, perhaps the best there ever was. No easy feat.
