Working at the SEMA show filming at that stage all week I can't tell you how many times I my self and told my guys to tell people not to sit on the stand that car was on. People had no clue what they leaned against. I wish they had some more respect for some of the vehicles at the show. Saw them driving down the road and setting up the display at the show. Made respect for Top Rank for bringing this car out and for SEMA to let them display it. Thanks 1320 for showcasing it on your channel.

I know, it really looks like someone in the aftermarket got a hold of it and did some tasteful mods. I didn't realize nissan played with that much carbon fiber back in the day.

If you go to SEMA I think you'll have some interest in cars. If you have some interest in cars you 100% know what the GTR is. If you know what the GTR is then you'll most likely notice this car. Hard to think that there will be lots of people not knowing what car this is

That’s because it’s not. Even if valued at $1000000, it’s not one of the most valuable. Is it worth it? No definitely not, just another over priced skyline.

I was at SEMA and seen a bunch of people huddled up next to this car just to see them look up on stage and not at the car. I was thinking, "Do you know what your next to, back up" lol What a great example to see in person at SEMA. I'm glad you guys did a video on this car. I'm sure some non JDM guys are in shock at the moment.

All the cars there and I'd imagine that was one if not the top holy grail! The owner came across genuine and very knowledgeable and I think a video and a visit to him would be worthwhile. What a car! You guy's have all the best shows and events! We got cold and rain here in the UK...

It's absolutely mind blowing to me that people sit on OTHERS cars, people they don't even know! I've had that happen to me at car meets and it always makes me annoyed. When calling these people out they simply don't understand that it's disrespectful and also can scratch the paint.

I had a Spec C Impreza brought into the U.K for me about five years ago and the importer had a purple 400R in their collection. It was stunning. Edit: It was white not purple 😂 Was a long time ago lol

I know it's a matter of opinion but the R33 is going to age best in my opinion. Call it the "ugly duckling" if you will but it's the most smooth and understated compared to the boxier R32 and R34. Idk why but the older I get the better looking they become. So understated yet undeniably a Skyline. They are all stunning though and this car truly has me in awe.

I still think the zero r is much rarer then the 400r is . But still that’s an amazing piece of machinery made by the legendary NISMO on the golden age of JDM cars . Man is guy is a legend of his own by acquiring and sharing his car with us, just mere peasants . Whatever he paid for that masterpiece of a car was worth every penny.

There used to be or still is one 400r here in Finland. I remember reading a post about it like 10 years ago. I have no idea if the guy still has it. He used to own a car import company that specialized on jdm vehicles

Ok. so that HAS to be the most impressive car I've seen covered ANYWHERE!!!! 😳 👌 😀 I'm so jealous you got to actually see and touch it irl. This was my FAVORITE cars in the original Gran Tourismo games when I was younger. All my friends and I building our own specs and going head to head racing them and loading memory cards.. OMG.. ALL the time wasted just sitting and waiting on that old Playstation to load garages... lmao but it was always worth it. I STILL have the games and all my memory cards loaded full of these cars in multiples with different set up for difference tracks. Such nostalgia and purity to see this car. You have ALL my envy, sir. All of it!!! 😄😊

a 94+ cobra would destroy every jdm car u just listed gtrs had less than 300hp same with the supra and rx7 and nsx and the weight on a supra and gtr makes a stock one feel like a slow boat the performance wasn't there unless u had alot of money for hks, top speed, nismo xyz. there beautiful but performance was a big thing in America in the 90's v8 sports cars came pretty much standard with 350+hp and were light so the car was actually fun to drive unlike the jdm slow boats and at the time 600hp was alot of hp its not like today were people push to make over 1000 at the time people hitting 500 on there street car were extremely hyped

@@Trent_Schell You sound kinda biased bro, the '94 SVT only had 240hp stock? All those cars he listed were 280hp as advertised, but most had a little more than what the manufacturers claimed, the Supra is confirmed to have had around 320hp stock (at least in EU), not sure about the RB's and rotaries. Also, the Supra/GTR weighed pretty much the same as the SVT. The RX7's were about 600lbs lighter than the SVT, with more power. Those jap cars were all turbo from factory, making extra power MUCH easier than N/A cars, so your claim that you had to source top-of-the-line parts to get them up in the numbers is kinda unfounded, just boost control and injectors woulda been good for a nice chunk of extra power. As for them being slow boats that aren't fun to drive, the RX7 is one of the best handling RWD cars to this day, way lighter than the SVT so it would leave it in the dust on any track.

400R has 400hp on low boost and 550hp on medium boost. It can make 600hp but turbos won’t last long on high boost. Maybe if you setup a scramble button. Plus, it’s AWD so you can have street or road racing tires for the corners but still launch like drag slick. The 1-2million price tag is pure hype.. They were selling for $20k 10-15yrs ago in Japan.

Oh and regular Skyline GTR can make 400-450hp (depending on how you measure) with only a exhaust, boost controller and tuned factory ecu. Technically it’s possible to modify the factory boost controller but HKS & Greedy make good aftermarket. Can make 600hp reliably with bigger turbos and injectors. Of course that was 30yrs ago. Now they’re old AF and need engine rebuilt.

yeah I was stating that if it was oem from the factory yeah there's special editions like the 400r v spec or whatever that make more but normal citizen city gtrs supras it goes on are slow and boaty the styling was there just not performance and it was swapped here ugly cars but performance yeah u can upgrade to make more but it's not like jdm cars are the only ones u can do that too

Believe it or not, the R33 400R is NOT the rarest GT-R (and neither is the R34-Z NISMO Z-Tune). The rarest GT-R of all is the R33 GT-R Vspec N1 (of which only 11 were made). Next is the Vspec II N1, of which 18 were made, one less than the NISMO Z-Tune.

@Spongebob R31 spec RB20. Very similar but looks different than R32 RB20. Has cool valve covers and top mount intercooler. For a time it was popular to swap RB26. By the time cheaper RB25 turbo was released Z31 wasn’t popular so I haven’t seen that swap. Oh and RB24 was popular too. It kept RB20 block with RB26 crank for RB24. Think it requires pistons with custom pin offset but they were stocked by companies back in 90s. To make the perfect Z31 200ZR. Get R32 RB25 nonturbo engine because looks just like RB20, no variable timing on intake cam. Put 2.8 stroker kit inside and R31/200ZR valve covers and bigger stock location turbo. Boom torque monster and sleeper. I even know a guy that can grind off the RB25 on block and stamp with RB20. Lol... Japanese tuners are crazy

Yup NISMO 2.8 stroker crank with forged rods and forged pistons. RB26 factory cast pistons have oil galley. The block mounted oil squirter injects oil inside the piston and drains out the other side. 400R has forged version that retains oil gallery. They machine a donut into the top of the piston. Then weld a ring over the top and machine flat. This leaves a hollow cavity inside the piston. Then machine inlet and outlet holes on the bottom of piston for oil to flow through. You can still buy the pistons but a set is $5,000 or 10,000. I forgot off the top of my head. The crank, rods and pistons used to be $10,000 and pistons alone were $5,000. But I think they might have raised pistons to $10,000. You can still buy a new 2.8L GT-X GT2 engine for $30,000-40,000 (maybe more now)

There's currently a massive amount of denial about the blatantly obvious hyperinflation that's gone off the rails in the last 18 mos, especially in the "jdm" flippers community. People don't want to acknowledge it because it undermines the current hustle. The bubble will burst, and it will be the most disastrous game of hot potato, history has ever seen.

I think they made 44. It's also not 100% standard, it has Tommy Tommy Kaira rear carbon light covers that look horrible. A 400R for sale in the UK as we speak, expected to fetch over 1 million on the open market.

As an Aussie, and a fan of Group A and Group C Touring Cars, The Nissan GTR is more ten a halo car, it is the thing legends are made of. If 4 of the 44 have never been spotted, I'd expect they would have been used for the Gibson Motorsport race cars, or parts used on the racecars, especially the carbon fibre sections and the larger motor.

Nismo 400R's are great looking cars, plus they worked the engine a bit, giving it a slight bore/stroke to 2.8 litres, block reinforcement and improved cooling channels on top of the go-fast bits. Another exceptionally rare Nismo to look out for is the Nismo 270R, based off the S14 Silvia's Only 30 of those were made

A few decades ago when I was a hardcore Nissan fan and owned a 91 S13 at the time I was really into the 270R and 400R back then. Really cool to see these around. The color of the special editions "midnight purple" is a color even today I want to paint one of my vehicles despite moving on from JDM vehicles.

In Ireland because we are righthand drive like Japan......we imported ship loads off performance JDM cars back in the 90s and 00s.. Everything from little CRXs to Skylines, Supras and RX7s. The golden era off Japanese performance cars..

What’s the old adage? Treasure or beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Knowledge is key, most ppl probably had no idea what a gem they were sitting next too. Most ppl wouldn’t know gold if It hit them in the head unless they were educated. We are just so over saturated with custom builds and crazy looking cars that something stock like that car is boring. I would also generalize also that those same ppl would not know the value of a classic muscle car in stock form. It has the be super customized to be worth anything. No, not the case.
