Dude, I’ve been dying to see that doc. I’m in the exact same boat - I use the R5 almost effusively and am really struggling with the R5C move. Can you do a video on the settings you use? Thanks!

Love to see the SmallRig vmount adapter! It's been on my list for a while. Any downsides? Also can you elaborate on the battery life with the Vmount? The 99mAh battery only lasts half a day of shooting? Is this constant shooting or periods of shooting? Camera on all the time?

Only downside to the mount holder I’d say is that the battery mounts vertical and I wish it mounted horizontal! I built a v mount holder with other pieces from small rig that held the battery horizontal and it balanced the rig much better as far as weight. Since I was filming a doc definitely had it running at all times recording a ton, 1-2 should be solid for a long days filming!

The battery life was the cripple hammer that prevented me from picking up a r5c

Love this set up mate! Great post: simple, to the point! efficient! I have a couple of questions. Since you come from the R5...🤔 I want to use the R5c for both Video & photos... (a nature project I am pre producing...) Is the autofocus of the R5c in pair with the R5...lets say for wildlife? Some people told me "yes is exactly the same" some others tell me is "a bit slower..." thoughts on this!? Thanks man!! :)

The R5 seems to have better and quicker autofocus than the R5C and the R5C does not have autofocus tracking in 4k 120fps! But you can make the AF in a lot more responsive quicker in the settings of the R5C. For action and filming 4K 120fps I still go to the R5, but the image quality is much better in the R5C! Hope this helps :)

Photo wise they're both the exact same! video is the only thing that's different, and also the overheating issue is not a problem with the R5C@@wildpatagoniafilms16

Still team C70 ✌️The DR is much better, has shutter angle, and has a proper HDMI port.

The R5C has shutter angle as well and the image is superior to the C70's mushy 4K that honestly looks like upscaled 1080p. I own both but stopped using the C70 at this point. The "much better" DR of that odd looking behemoth is better on paper, but in real world applications I haven't noticed it.

I’ve haven’t been experiencing anything bad on my end but I’d make sure all software (and drivers if you’re on windows) are up to date! That usually fixes any issues I have

does the moment adapter change the AF capability??

The AF does not work with the adapter! You have to set your lens to infinity focus and adjust focus on the adapter. I much prefer to manual focus at this point
