It’s probably just jealousy that Ronaldo only needed 2006-2009 to surpass Henry’s legacy, and that’s before you factor in what he did at Real Madrid. Before that Henry probably just thought he was overhyped. It’s the same with me, the players I always dislike the most are the ones I didn’t see coming.

In 2008 Barca and ManU meet up in the semis and thanks to Scholes' long shot ManU goes through, Cristiano wins his 1st Ballon D'Or. Cristiano's rise to superstardom happened parallel to Henry aging and realizing he couldn't carry Arsenal as their main star no longer. I love Henry, but I could imagine him being a bit annoyed with Cristiano's success back then. You have to consider, players on that level are usually super competitive types.

I think Cristiano has more goals than R9 and Henry combines. Of course, that doesn't mean anything but I firmly believe that we tend to romanticize past players. R9 was the best player I saw until the Messi and Ronaldo era. And while I think R9's peaks are higher than CR7, the latter was the better player overall. Henry was great but Cristiano is on a different level.

Bergkamp was classy but nowhere near as affective as Ronaldo. Your list stinks. Even maradonna was more of a 10 for most of his career.
