I am from India. Charukeshi, a South Indian Raga, is one of my favourites. I have heard many sitarists playing this raga and this is one of the best. Many sitarists present it with too much of pause to bring a dramatic effect. Here Ustadji kept it simple and heart touching, without any drama. I really liked it.

I lived in Lahore in 1975. His father played for our Urdu language group. He was at the concert. I believe he was 6 years old at the time. I wonder if he remembers?

I would say percussionist played equally good. It was an awesome performance by Ustad Ashraf Khan and Ustad Bashir Khan.
