I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

aberration, for me, is one of the first times the game has genuinely made me just go "wow". I love this game, and I loved all the maps that came before it, but running through the green and blue zone with my ravager for the first time was the first time i was really like "wow"

One thing you didn't mention about those mushrooms from Aberration, the Ascerbic Mushrooms are the same as Narcoberries, and combined with Spoiled Meat you can craft Narcotics out of them, or use the shrooms themselves as narcoberries. The Auric Mushrooms are the same as Stimberries except you can't craft Stimulant from them. If you have no hazard gear, and in the blue zone if you run across the blue mushrooms on the floor, and start hallucinating and freezing to death, you can eat the Aquatic Mushrooms to counteract the effects, as well as if you walk through the freezing spores in the air, aquatic shrooms will get rid of it. The Aggeravic Mushrooms will counteract the hallucinations from the Red Mushrooms in the green zone. You can also get Bio Toxin out of the red ones, but if you look closely at them, you'll see ones that are pointy at the tips, and THOSE are specifically the only ones that will cause the debuff, and offer Bio Toxin when harvested. With the blue ones in the blue zone, also, one some will cause the freezing effects. If you look closely at them, you'll see ones that have a glowing blue light at the base, and THOSE are the only ones that will cause a debuff. Aberration is my all time FAVORITE map in Ark. Challenging but very rewarding if mastered.

i didnt really enjoy aberration, but once i took a crab into the rock drake nest and it was one of the most fun things i did in the entire game. it was pre cryo pods i think, or i didnt have any, going in was great fun, but getting out took ages and a few times i wasnt sure if it was even possible to get out with the tame

I like aberration and extinction a lot but aberration just surpassing extinction in the no flyer policy and the plethora of new mechanics and trademark creatures that came from this dlc

Personally, abb is my most favorite map because of the insane details they put in it (since the transferring and item/data lose is now fixed for me and most people) I can't wait to get to abb from island & scorched. Gen2 maybe my second favorite map due to its size (as far as we know of)

I really love the engrams this map brought. Also, the ravagers are so useful to get around on the map if you have zip lines. I played this map for days when I was in quarantine in my room.

I really wish they would update the map. Like being more accurate, also being able to see tribemates/where beds are placed. Such a simple thing would be great.

I love aberration and the aberration zones in other maps. I wish there was a mod or addon for Rag to have an Aberration zone. The Rock Drakes are remarkably useful on the mountain slopes and various center areas around the map, and i wish i could get a natural spawning one.

I really love ab :) I accidentally started on this map when I first started playing back when I did not know anything about ark, I didn't start on the others nor did I know anything about it. I started hard and died ALOT and I mean ALOT ALOT till I finally got gyst of it and became a beast, I went to the other maps and got bored cause I kept getting killed by people with flyers and everything so I decided that ab is my home :)

I've always been a total sucker for bioluminiscent creatures and flora in videogames and movies so Aberration became my favorite map almost instantly. It's true that it can be pretty brutal if you're unprepared but, at least in my oppinion, it's easily one of the most beautiful and unique maps so far. I lost track of how many times I spent hours just wandering around the luminous marshlands in my ravager, doing nothing but sightseeing while my featherlight kept the nameless away. I only hope we can get something akin to those beautiful blue forests again in Genesis part 2

In conan exiles there are few availible mounts which means you have to go on foot, which makes you very vulnerable. In ark abberation there are no flying mounts which makes you very vulnerable thanks to the abundance of hostiles. I love both of these because both are designed for ground traversal. While in any other ark map you can fly to any spot without much issue, not very exciting

The auric mushrooms don't hurt you. The red ones just hurt you if you get too close and they release gas. You can harvest the red ones if you have a tek suit/hazard suit.

One thing. I like stealing drakes with reapers, as the dmg resistance is so good i prefer having 35k hp and 250 minimum dmg and imprint of course. me and my friend had such reapers and got 10 drake eggs while having 20k+ hp although stealing with drakes is easier, id rather not as the risk of a crash is higher.

@raasclark! love these videos! just beat scorched earth and will be moving to aberration next! i just move onto the next world with the armor on my back, and like 6 dinos before i move onto the next story line. with my main base being on lost island. (ive never been sure the proper way to beat the game. am i supposed to start over at level one each world?)

You can also tame bulbdogs with raw meats, cooked meats, if no mushrooms on hand. Shinehorns can be tame with Aggeravic shrooms, if no Z seeds on hand. Z seeds are basically their Kibble food.

Well here is my comment(i know you waited for this😉 This map will always be my fav, it added a challange that no other map does, creatures that are so fun i can play with them for days, a boss that will be the final boss of the game, an amazing story, and so on. The blue zone is so beutiful its the best pve base spot if you know whre to build, the red zone has a lot of noice ratholes for the pvp players, oh and the greenzone all the cliffplat spots. Its always a challange to beat it solo, and if anybody is thinking of getting it def do, you will not regret it.

Rock drake eggs are in the radiation zone. So id say bring 2 full sets of radiation gear. Also bring a glider. At your current base try and make a large amount of air conditioners because the eggs require extreme cold.

Aberration another map I did love but not as much as scorch. It was definitely a beautiful place but extremely hostile. I remember many trials and errors on just trying to figure out where I wanted to go. Without mods on an unofficial server this is the only place you can get basilisks and a basilisk is actually quite good. Being a very fast mount Underground and having a pretty decent hitting projectile. Don't attempt to swim for these things are not that great at swimming. And some of the dinos look fantastic in this map with just illumination lights coming off of them. Especially my personal favorite being the Raptors. If you want to challenge that isn't as brutal as scorch but will still kick your teeth in if you're not careful then aberration is for you. A little tip if you're playing this map solo or you're in a PVP server do it is recommended to not spawn at portal I would say at least spawn there to get four crates that will help you boost your experience by a lot in the early game one of them actually on the platform that you spawn on. Just be careful though because I don't know how often this happens but a basilisk can spawn up there and trust me in the early game you do not want to face one of these things and there's a lot of raptors.

An incredibly beautiful and uniqe map, filled to the brim with bioluminescent creatures, new mechanics, and challenging environments. My main map on official PVP for 3 years before I retired to PVE and could truly enjoy it. If you need tips, I can gladly help you. Though, whoever thought abundant aberrant purlovias in the radiation area was a good idea should be thonked on the head. Yes, they're avoidable, but often they're not and very fatal considering the amount of carnivores just standing around. Sometimes they pounce THROUGH the mesh.

When you go to scorched earth, where do you like to spawn. My favourite is south three. It’s next to the green obelisk, if you go closer to the green obelisk out to eastern oasis, plenty of metal, water, but the only problem is there are terror birds, mantis, and kapros. However, these creatures are manageable using wooden spike walls, bolas, and a bow and some stone arrows.

I just started a save on Edge one. 😆 Just because I know a little spot to Bob it out, while squirreling away resources - because I always end up in the Bio-zone, by the pink crystal waterfall. Exactly where Syntac has built. And yes, I made a spiraling Tek city the last time. This time I’m doing an old school, prehistoric, cliff platform town. 🤦🏼♀️ I think I get a little too excited, but I think it’s even worse that I, eventually, will get it done. A week. Took me two last time. I’m using a stone material based build - and my Doed gathers 2k stone with my settings; so if it takes me more than a week to do this, I’m calling myself out for being a bloody snot shooter. 🤣 What’s probably even more sad, I’ve already had six bulldogs from 20-80 wander right into me; so I have a small light pet army 5 minutes into this one. Bloody can’t not cackle softly to myself. 🙊

You forgot about the poly plants in the red zone that you don’t get haz from that if you farm with a dire bear you get crap tones of poly in my opinion it the best place for poly

Fun fact: if you jump in a molten element river while equipped with a full element armor set you will not take damage or lose durability but rather charge your element set

@Elijah McNeill they do die but i think the thing is the molten element doesn't deal percentage damage but rather just straight up deals a certain number to everything thats why the player dies quickly in the element and the dino doesn't die as quickly because he doesn't have as much health as a dino

It's hard to overcome the fear when you can't overcome the lag. The lag is excruciatingly annoying and I'm thinking about spawning rockdrakes in different map to use them.

I got stuck in the blue zone and died to the freezing mushrooms, and then died trying to get it back, and then almost died while trying to get back up because me and my ravager got stun locked by a baryonix and then attacked by 2 karkinos and a high level sarco, and for some reason I kept getting flung around in the water, but did eventually get away because the sarco started fighting the crabs, I also ran out of zip lines trying to get back up the very steep path I took down, but at least I have a bunch of metal that I can’t take back to my base because I’m stuck on a cliff with no resources

Yeah there is no surviving aberration especially when your gliding over the radiation zone just to crash. I did surprisingly survive tho just on the edge of land near pink juice

There is a STUPID amount of poly you can gather by hand as a plant in the red zone.... Using a direbear there's enough to black weight in some spots ^.^

Artifact of the Stalker goes from "nearly impossible" to "child's play" with a drake.

Honestly makes it the easiest cave of the three imo. The other two caves are a lot narrower and have some nasty bits where you could easily get yourself screwed without a tek chestpiece.

Just an FYI...if you are playing solo on a non-multiplayer server (like a local host, or somesuch), you CANNOT transfer out using the drops. You can only use the obelisks or the boss fight transfer in the red zone to leave the map. Just wanted players to know that if you go to Aberration on a solo play, it’s a one-way ticket for quite a while, so be prepared.

@@Raasclark Yes...and it caused a lot of problems in the beginning for solos. If they didn’t like it, or thought they could just easily transfer stuff using the drops, they were out of luck. Best advice is to build a Tek Transfer Beacon on another Ark and set it up where you can use that instead. But, you still have to make at least one trip to an Ob or the Boss Transfer to get it...which takes time, resources, and substantial tames. 🤷♀️

@Stormer248 You don't have to go through a single bit of water in the red on the way down to the drakes...don't know where you went. Also, cryos are a thing for dino transport.

Damn i just got the heads up. Already did Island and Scorched bosses solo, so I upload some useful stuff to data (tools, weapons and couple of dinos) and transfer myself to Aberration. After a while I found a green drop and I checked that no data transfer possible. I have nothing to go to the boss zone neither the surface... Aberration has now trapped me. Toughest challenge so far going through the history base maps.

12:20 wait are you saying that i can transfer artifacts between maps ?!! And here I'm giving up on bosses because I'm playing on ragnarok and i refuse to do the desert cave that holds 4 artifacts... In this case can you pls make a guide on artifacts for which map is the easiest for each artifacts? Because i see some artifacts are very easy to get while other artifacts are harder than the boss it self...

My list of maps in order of least favorite to favorite: Crystal Isles Extinction Genesis The Center Aberration Scorched Earth Ragnarok The Island Valguero What do you all think? Disagree, agree? Maps like Valguero and The Island are my favorite because they’re more prehistoric themed, which is the part of ARK I like the most.

I recommend this map for any new player who wants to have a challenge just keep in mid after u pick the map it’s hard to get off but if u can beat this map then any other map will feel easy
