@Michael Barnett Of course you can. I am 50 % Jewish proven through a DNA kit for a start.. I have the blood line. Just from the wrong parent. I went to the mikveh and converted years ago. People convert to other religions all of the time other than the one they were born into

Such a brilliant mind in harmony with love of Judaism and it’s timeless happening. Just learn , think, and ask others. To share words or reasons. Rabbi you studied with my brother Rabbi Dr.Steven saltzman and both have passed. Your energy your neshuma were beautiful and clearly the words continued. Both a legacy in their own right. More and most generous is always learning from them. Brilliant

Being a missionary is a great responsibility! The missionary must have great energy, fortitude and courage. Wherever the missionary goes, in whatever part of the world he is in, he must spread the Word. The local people must understand what the missionary is saying to them. The missionary must get the Word right to the people! Therefore, every missionary must know the language of the local people! To everyone who is going on a mission or preparing for one I would like to recommend a very good workshop by Yuriy Ivantsiv Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language. This excellent book will give you answers how to correctly learn a foreign language with a minimum of your time and effort. This book answers many of the questions that everyone faces when learning a language. Good luck with your important work!

I feel more forgiving n loving knowing God is loving I know God is just, should I not be just? Like Maimonedies and many taught, hell isn’t forever but we pay for our sins. How much love does God have compared to the Christian version that burns his enemies forever

This is a modern view of ancient stories that do not make sense because those who made these stories did not have an idea beyond the measure of their understanding, so why should we add to the myths what is not in them just to keep them alive

Revelation 3: 20,21,22 Behold, I stand at the door, and am beating. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into his house and take the evening meal with him and him with me. 21 He that overcometh will grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I overcame and have sat down as my Father in his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the congregations.

Jesus said “I am “ the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father but by me. Nothing has changed for them over 2000 years, they are still blind. It is not what enters the man through the mouth that defiles him but what comes out of our hearts. Abraham was told that many nations would be blessed by his seed not seeds. His seed being Jesus.

Keep striving, you still can't see the holy when it is being professed before you. His message doesn't negate Christianity, it explains it! As a Christian church Elder I pray that people see God in us and that we are not bad witnesses. You are called to be a light unto the nations.

A clever man. Shame that Christianity diverted so much from it's original source. Jesus respected his roots and never changed the religion. That was done much later. God is so great and difficult to understand. Yes God is love and joy and looking after each other. For now Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. But it will be the capital of the world one day.

Judaism is younger than Christianism. About 60 years! Jusaism has never been a root of Christianism. Christianism according to Yeshua developed in some opposition to mosaism, that is a root for judaism, but also gave a rise for Christianism. Christianity is a kind of pagan pathology within Christianism. It is important to know...

@70AD That is certainly a good point. It is important to realize though that the fundamental difference between christianism (messianism), Judaism, and Christianity is ... truth

The irony of this comment is that your own criticism is something Rabbi Sacks would neither utter nor condone. And you also have lost the respect for age or the aged that Rabbi Sacks would also encourage - in particular that as we age, especially if, as with Volf, our minds are cluttered with ideas and philosophy, our minds are not as sharp with details like those he is reading off his phone so he wants to get it right. Such irony to make that your single post below a beautiful and ecumenical discussion of what it means to live life well in the presence of the divine which is a community and welcoming of strangers. And recognizing as Sacks and Volf observe that we are all flawed creature. Perhaps you would benefit from actual listening to and digesting the whole conversation? “Judaism is a profound religion of apology and forgiveness.”
