Beautiful explanation on צדיק בן צדיק. I heard a fascinating explanation on this rashi from the rebbe jankl of pshevorsk (of antwerp). He explains that yitzchok and rivka davened opposite each other, meaning they argued that Hashem should listen to their spouse BECAUSE of the other's advantage. And hashem agreed with yitschok that a tzadik ben rosho is greater, so He listened to him and gave them children in the zechus of rivka.(I assume that according to this creative explanation אין דומה would mean it isn't as good)

that's correct. not to haunt you now but when you die you will experience all the pain you caused onto others as if it was you the whole time which it was =)

People need to watch and be careful how they treat other people. Some people don't care how others are tested.

Dear Rabbi, As listening to your discussion of Esau, I think of the opening words to this weeks Haftorah, Malachi Chapter 1. How can we reconcile that with what you discuss? Hashem apparently HATES Esau. I loved you, said the Lord, and you said, "How have You loved us?" Was not Esau a brother to Jacob? says the Lord. And I loved Jacob. And I hated Esau, and I made his mountains desolate and his heritage into [a habitat for] the jackals of the desert.

Concerning the exchange of the RIGHTS OF THE FIRSTBORN, Esau and Jacob were both FIFTEEN years old at that time - just IMMATURE teenagers. Consider, but since they lived much longer than we do today, then they would also mature - MUCH LATER. How could a proper decision worthy of an ADULT, be made?

Isn't it also true that engaging in the practical affairs of running your life - a VALID part and parcel of Torah observance?

Took Yitzchak 20 years ? Rivkah was a Gilgul of Sarah ?

In the time of Yaakov, there was NO revealed Torah. So WHAT did he study?

But didn't Isaac follow many of the ways of his father Abraham? So how can you say that he forged a NEW path on his own?

P S. You just finished saying that Isaac's role was to PRESERVE the ways of his father and ancestors. So how can you suggest that he created something INNOVATIVE here?
