We visited the world's only rabbit paradise, Rabbit Island (Okunoshima, Hiroshima Prefecture).
It is an uninhabited island where 700 wild rabbits live, and they are just so cute.
As I was feeding the rabbits, they came running out of nowhere, and before I knew it, there was a huge traffic jam of rabbits.
We spent the day walking around Okunoshima, which is about 4 km in circumference, looking for rabbits.

Not quite... Rabbits reproduce like...rabbits. 1 female rabbit can breed as many as 40 rabbits in 1 year. Food is a fight and a struggle for the rabbits since there are always more rabbits than food and water sources, and there is no vet care for them.

700 rabbits seems like a very small amount. I've seen 60 of them relaxing in a 7-11 parking lot in a pretty heavily developed suburb.

I loved this video so much!! This is definitely the best video there is about this island! I am going there in April! Do you know if we can leave water bowls on the island? It doesn’t look like there’s enough water for them.

There's also a video of me on Rabbit Island that I went to last month, check it out. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o7d0oM6YqauVj5c.html I didn't get to film everything, so the video shows fewer water balls, but there are plenty of water balls there on the island. There are also volunteers who come from all over Japan to replace the water. There were some balls with no water in them, so you can fill them with water if you want. Please enjoy your trip.🐇

Thank you very much for this beautiful video. I love the wild rabbits in my yard. I can hand feed them, pet them and lie down with them. I was lucky enough to see one nurse her kits in front of me! I am trying to get them to eat other vegetables but all they want are carrots. Do you have any advice for me? Thank you for your time.

VERY much so. Timothy or Orchard hay would've been a MUCH better option. Leafy greens are actually an essential part of their daily diet, whereas carrots are too high in sugar and carbs and too low in fiber to be nutritionally beneficial to them. Either way, carrots are better than nothing.

- The restroom is located on the ground floor of the hotel shown in the video. There are also several public restrooms on the island. - Return tickets can be purchased for a round-trip ticket if you go from Tadanoumi Port. You can also buy them at the ferry waiting area on the island. On the first floor of the hotel, there is a souvenir store, cafe, restaurant, and restrooms. Non-guests may also use the facilities. Buses run from the pier to the hotel and are free of charge for everyone.

I often see rabbits eating grass and leaves, and I also see rabbits living in the mountains, away from humans. However, I feel that many rabbits prefer the food that tourists give them.

No. That's why they run up to every tourist they see. It's not an emotional connection thing for them, it's a starvation/fight for food and resources thing. You'll notice that almost every outdoor scene shows how the grass has been eaten to a stump? That's because rabbits must eat almost 24/7 to stay alive and prevent GI Stasis, and they reproduce at a quicker rate than the natural resources can replenish themselves.
