Thank you! I have a darling 7-8 year old rabbit who's rescuer never fed him hay in his early years and so he never showed interest in eating it. I do everything in my power to make sure my best friend gets a the nutrition and hay that his diet needs. This is very helpful :)

I have a Guinea pig I just adopted who's the same . Think it might be dental , trying to get him looked at asap . What happened with your rabbit in the end ?

My vet has me practice tough love - that is, only 1 meal of regular food (her fresh greens and a small allotment of pellets) in the morning, and no treats or anything, only hay till the next day. This caused my rabbit to become food aggressive but she does eat the hay. I've found if I bundle hay with fresh herbs and stuff it in a toilet paper roll, she will eat more of it. If I sprinkle forage mix in with her hay she will eat some of it. She will eat timothy cubes too, but reluctantly. She likes the texture. If I put her hay in toys and put a few pellets in the center she'll eat some of the hay lol. Like a kid you're tricking in to eating broccoli. She did seem to like the botanical mix in with her normal timothy too.

Somehow all my rabbits struggle with eating hay even if I mix a lot of expensive and fresh hey :( one of them(my senior) even have teeth problems due to this 😢she have to go to the vet next week to get her teeth done 😥I tried nearly everything...

my bunny won’t eat any form of hay and he’s 4. The vet has done nothing about this and i’m worried

There's not much they can do. You need to reduce their pellet consumption. What do you want the vet to do?

my rabbit is so hooked on alfalfa hay, but she can no longer eat it, it is time for her to get more fiber she’s not a baby anymore and she refuses to eat any other hay and health problems started to come up from this alfalfa obsession. I have no idea what to do i’ve tried everything.

she has no dental problems she’s literally just stubborn. Worst part is, she used to love timothy hay when she was younger but I started to give her alfalfa since I heard it would be beneficial for her and now I have created this problem by doing that, I regret it so much.

@@feedmeastraycat8247 you have to transition them over to alfalfa and Timothy or orchard mixed then …..eventually provide only the Timothy or orchard grass hay. I’ve had to do it with babies I used to foster. Would start them out with it mixed from the beginning so it wouldn’t be an issue.
