Race Commentary Armed forces with Germany's best crit team

We take on Germany's best team in the first big crit of the year! They came with a lot of confidence and put up a great fight! Here I go through our plan and talk a little bit of why I moved in the pack the way I did and shared some of my thoughts in the sprint.

Andreas Mayr from DCC aka "the german team" was in a german podcast (Besenwagen) talking about the races. Not only about the this one that Legion won, also about the other one that they won. They were surprised by how rough these crits are ridden in the states. It is a bit more safe and respectful in germany, but they weren't complaining. By the way, this isn't a pro team, they all have day jobs and they do this as a hobby.

We did 5 races with them. We won 3 out of 5 and they won 1 they are a good bunch of guys and win everything in Germany day job or not they have the champion for a reason. So if it’s a hobby good for them.

He also said that he didn’t expect the riders in general to be this strong. He thought his team would fly over and win some races. He actually praised your guys and the others. How fast (corners) and aggressive the races are was new to him

@@nationsnumber1beast In germany there is no pro-crit-champ. They are the german amateur champions.

If other teams are bumping, it’s pointless and “for whatever reason”. When legion is doing it though, “it’s crit racing” or some other made up propaganda to make the team seem sharp and respectable. Just look at how the legion rider bumped and cut off the other dude right before the corner at 7:26 and tell me that ain’t some pointless shit. Cycling ain’t the dick swing competition portrayed by the team 🤷‍♂️.

This commentary video is really great champ! Thank you!! 💪🏼🙌🏼 That part where Justin looked out on your cadence is a great feeling, its not that big of a deal but coming from your brother means a lot. I do it to my brother too and vice versa 🤙🏽

It was not as bad as you think. We deal with a lot more than this most people in the race are very capable bike racers. Those guys were leaning on everyone all day so they didn’t complain about that.

bumping is fine, but it’s a bit of a joke you complain about others bumping and riding alongside when you can see legion doing the same thing in the final lap bumping people off wheels

There’s a time and a place the last 5 laps matter. The problem is bumping when there is no benefit

Nice video mate, I would just recomend to put information like power, HR and distance ramaining in the screen, it makes a little easier to follow along. (sorry for the broken english BTW, i'm Brazillian)

@5:37 Justin was like "Knock it off" in his meet me in the parking lot voice (hahahaha). The German riders brought some heat but got snuffed out trying to play games. Real talk - those Simplon bikes they ride are 🔥! Have you seen the bar stem on that thing? Its probably the best looking tech I've seen ( way better than what Cervelo does ). One has to get on a plane to Austria to get one tho.

Crispy footage, great commentary, game changer strategy. Evenyone is so used to a fast pace Legion on the front kind of race but this probably threw off a lot of riders.
