Race Face Bike Check: Steve Vanderhoek

‪@stevevanderhoek1304‬ a name synonymous with the North Shore. Having grown up in North Vancouver’s Lynn Valley and inspired by earlier Shore legends such as Wade Simmons, Andrew Shandro and Thomas Vanderham, Steve has carved out his own veritable niche of freeriding. Namely, crazy-ass stunts involving steep, exposed rock slabs and step-down drops that would make any professional freerider question their career decisions.
We stopped by Lucky’s Bar, Beer Retreat & Wellness Centre (aka Steve’s garage) for a rundown on the Devinci Spartan he prefers for his long days of sending it. It would have been a smooth film shoot if it wasn’t for those meddling neighborhood kids. Plus, we had to fit in a mandatory intermission so Steve could walk his cat. But hey, we got there.

Glad to see Steve Vanderhoek making a name for himself. He's getting big fast with good reasoning. Guys definitely one of the craziest old school freeride mtbers. Huge underdog.

You got the dream girl, you got the dream job, you got the skills everyone dreams they had, you got a sick bike AND you can semi-sorta pull off the STASH ;-) big props man! can't to see you back riding. Also, since you are concussed, ill let it slide the fact you're running two different wheels.. Did you have an issue where you realized the Union wasn't holding up on the back so you switched to Strife or did you do that from the start?? Love what your doing bro GET WELL SOON!!!@@!
