The race review of the centenary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, round 4 of the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
The FIA World Endurance Championship is the world’s premier international sportscar championship, contested over seven rounds across North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. With multiple cars across three categories (Hypercar, LMP2 and LMGTE Am) all on track at the same time, the WEC is a sports car extravaganza that offers action, overtakes, excitement and entertainment for fans worldwide.

my first full live was 2013 and when saw this one, I was so on edge of the seat to see Ferrari win, the moment pit stop problems happened, was always heart attack moment. but welcome to the group, just you wait for 2024, it will be hopefully another amazing show ;)

lol it’s so funny to see the comments of those uneducated Americans who really believe the world revolves completely around them and everybody cares about their stuff. Dude you need to correct your perspective, in the racing world the USA is just a little player at the side of the field. People care about Porsche and Ferrari when comes to Le Mans. In the recent history there were a few win streaks from Audi and Toyota, but the traditional winners are back. I find it impressive what the corvette team did, but this happens quite often in the touring car classes. Have a great day my man!

The cost cap in f1 was good for all motorsport, especially endurance racing as it meant ferrari had to do other things to help people keep their jobs. Thus a le mans overall winner was born, breaking Toyota's streak and adding intrigue to the race.

yeahh i kinda dissagree. The race is amazing but the track is not that amzing to me. Spa and Bathurst come to mind for me :) but that's opinion of course

Say what you will about the BoP, but 5 different manufacturers led the race and we had a battle for the lead for 23HRS. I'd say the BoP was for once actually balanced. Well done Ferrari ❤️🇮🇹

@@racer501_sb it ended being changed every race, but at the beginning of the championship the organizers intended to make a single BoP change in the middle of the season to prevent teams from sandbagging in the early races. As races went by, they decided to change this rule, but I'm not sure it helped a lot.

I think a lot of people forget that the 24H of Le Mans is the absolute priority of the manufacturers, which explains why some cars do better over there. A number of these cars are designed specifically for Le Mans, and just hope for the best on the other tracks. Tracks like Monza seem similar but they are probably not for tyre wear, temperatures, fuel usage etc.

CHE GARONA STRAORDINARIA , the best moment of 2023 for me , seeing Ferrari absolutely triumphing after 58 years at Le Mans , potentially the most important race ever known, was simply a heavenly sensation than cannot be replicated. Forza Ferrari❤❤🇮🇹

Great race, loved the action, really well done for Ferrari, Toyota (kind of) and Cadillac! And I must say a very honorable (at least) 6 and 7 for Glickenhaus, a very good race for them, kept out of big troubles and took advantage of the attrition race. It's a shame they won't be there this year

Around 19:45 .. Reminds me of F1 Suzuka. I think it was Turn one when half the grid hydroplaned off turn 1 one after another... Some of these guys are driving like it's a 24 Minute Race, not a 24 hr one..

What a superb win for Endurance Motorsport gaining so much brands in the Hypercar class. What I wonder is the actual total no. of FIA WEC paticipants in 2024 which sums up to app 37. I wonder how the AOC as the Le Mans event organizer will deal with that as they always had 55-60 cars in the race. Any info available ?

It will most likely be a full grid again with 62 cars, all of the WEC cars will be there + 15 LMP2s + auto invites. The rest of the slots are still to be decided.

😮 WOW, I have seen this much action since I was single and had 4 girlfriends. DAMN what a race. A Camaro from NASCAR modded for LeMans, Ferrari actually WINNING IT. Wow... Someday I will see this race in person. My friend Mark Patterson has raced this event 10 times. As one of the greatest gentleman drivers in endurance racing I loved when he'd give email updates to the race. It's a brutal test of machine and man, no one and nothing gets any rest for 24 hours. Can you imagine getting woke up and in them minutes have your great old and ready to drive at TRIPLE DIGIT SPEEDS.. while you're still bleary eyed and half asleep. But the instant the cat is fired up, SO ARE YOU ... and you ride that wave of adrenaline for you 40 minute stint. I can only imagine that one doesn't realize how tired they are until they get out of the car and can barely walk straight. Vive le France Vive LeMans
