The only measurement that should be measured with a foot of rollout in my opinion is the quarter mile, as that's what most (all?) drag strips do. As far as I know, Tesla is the only car maker that measures their 0-60 times with a foot of rollout. The easiest way to compare which device is the most accurate would be to go to an official drag strip and compare with their highly accurate timing for the quarter mile. I believe most people use Dragy to measure their times. It's a much cheaper (but almost as good) alternative to these expensive devices.

For the most accurate times, the foot rollout should be off, it's mostly used for dragraces. If it's on during measurement of stated times on cars, your numbers are going to be wrong.

The car is awesome, especially the design, but the difference in the exhaust sound compared to the pre-restyling R8(2015) is noticeable. However, I miss the leather steering wheel instead of the Alcantara one, that's just personal but Alcantara is overrated...

Why not consider the PerformanceBox Touch? It's a bit surprising you did not mention it, for someone who has been using a Racelogic product for so many years. It's the (relatively) new upgrade to the PB/DB from Vbox Racelogic. It also has a larger, color touchscreen, with plenty of info on it. As a company that builds and is specialized in stuff like this (gps location, etc.), i would trust Racelogic more. The downside of the PB Touch would be that it's more expensive than this Racebox, if i can remember correctly from when i bought it, it's price is around the 6-700E mark. As for the 1 ft rollout, when measuring with a GPS device you certainly don't need it (maybe just to compare apples to apples with other times/cars that were measured using it), this is used mainly at drag strips where they measure the wheels movement at the start with some light/laser beams to detect when the wheel starts moving.
