As much as I love rachel and bryan together, I have to admit this has to be one of the hardest breakups I seen on the bachelor/bachelorette. You can tell there really is something there, whether or not they both see it

She did say he reminded her of her 5 year relationship. She said she had dated many Peters. She is clearly crying for all those past experiences as well. Not just this one. He also got emotional talking about his ex at one of the dates and how he felt he held back from loving her fully. He’s clearly realising he hadn’t changed much and is again letting a good girl go. They’re both not just crying for this particular loss but all other loses in the past and possibly future ones (in Peter’s sake). I personally feel she chose the right guy. Bryan loves her, and she loves him. Despite being drawn to “the Peters”.

Peter is the most realis person that has ever been on this show. His plan probably was to get to know Rachel outside of the show for a few months than propose and get married, their is nothing wrong with that.

Im glad neither of them compromised on what they wanted. They would have either eventually broken up or one person would have been resentful.

This is an real example of my favorite saying... sometimes you have to forget what you feel for what you deserve.

Well her life is definitely NOT mediocre. She and Bryan are VERY successful.

I think she showed more emotion in he breakup than the proposal.

She wanted a proposal at the end of the show. He wasn't willing to give one. Major compatibility issue. Sometimes love just isn't enough!!

Wow, looking back at this 3 years later and I'm so happy Rachael chose Bryan. She made the smart choice. Peter may have loved her but he wasn't ready for commitment. When a man really loves you he won't waste time to grab you for himself. The people that were mad at Rachael for not choosing Peter were a bunch of little immature girls who have no clue what it's like looking for love in their 30s. Rachael's a grown ass woman who needs a grown ass man.

That was not love. So happy she chose Bryan. Her life would be so different if she settled for Peter. Everything would have been on his terms.

I was team Peter the whole season. This scene always made me emotional. I always thought she made the wrong decision. Now that I am older and looking back at this, she made the right decision with Bryan. No doubt her and Peter loved each other. You can't tell me they didn't love each other. But Peter wasn't ready. They were on different pages. I think Peter is still single, living the bachelor life. Atleast he was the last time I was on his page. If she had chose him, I doubt they would be together. This reminds me of that young love. That first love that you never forget but you know it wasn't right for you. Its not that forever. I thought she gave up on him, but he let her go. He didn't love her enough to commit. 😢

Ladies the point at where she was fidgeting and couldn't leave. We have all been there. She loved that man. It took a lot for her to walk away from him in that moment. And who knows this was over two months ago so now she has probably developed strong feelings for Bryan because he was her only focus now. But Rachel if you are a God fearing person please do not go on national tv and say you never loved Peter. We have the proof right here. Own your truth woman. ....that way you could be free to live as you so joyfully put it the "best life ever"

I always knew she settled for Bryan. If Peter wanted marriage he would’ve been her choice, hands down. They had so much more chemistry, and her family preferred him over Bryan. I remember him getting up in the middle of a converstion as Rachel’s sister was grilling him, and he couldn’t handle it. And if you watch the first episode, Bryan seemed so inauthentic; making out every second rather than having a real conversation with her, and using his sex appeal as leverage. He was an opportunist and him asking for spousal support confirms that; a trophy husband. Maybe they grew to have real love for each other when they got married, but that relationship was doomed from the start. I was never a fan of his. I really like Rachel though, I wish her the best moving forward.

I was so sad about this and was upset at Rachel when I saw this but as I get older I finally understand where she’s coming from. She made her intentions clear from the start and didn’t want to settle for any less. As much as I loved Peter what he could give was not enough. She definitely made the right decision and I’m so glad that she and Bryan are still married, happy, and together to this day.

Years later and this is still sad. This was real, true love.

Y'all gotta understand Peter, he is not one to make permanent life long decisions based on an emotional/physical based tv show alone. Maybe he wanted to try the bachelorette to see if it were possible. But he is not able to, especially when he saw with his own eyes how attached Rachel was to the show, and to someone like Brian who comes off as fake, is from Miami (the city of fake), and likes to be on reality tv shows. Although he loved her to death, he still saw right through her. He was hoping she would understand him and give him a chance based on a real-world perspective. He may have even changed his mind and proposed had she shown that she was in it for love and not just a tv show/ring, but she wanted to live the bachelorette fairy tale dream and win that ring. He even told her, "TAKE A CHANCE" he even said "You know where to find me if you change your mind" he was giving her ALL kinds of chance to take a risk with him. He made up his mind that he wasn't going to take a risk without her taking a risk. Was it worth it in the end? Only time will tell. Peter understands that there is more to love than a ring and a show. He wanted forever with her even if it meant sacrificing what he believed in because he said he would propose if that meant she would stay with him even though it goes against his belief in perfect timing(aka dump Bryan). But she wasn't willing to sacrifice why she came on the show which was for a guaranteed proposal/ring above all else.

There is just no explaining this away. Brian cannot possibly watch this and continue to believe Rachel was not in love with Peter..probably still is.

This break up was definitely longer than what we are seeing. After they kiss the first time and before he says I love you Rachel there is editing there. Yup was probably a lot of tears that probably was too much to be shown.

I remember watching this and truly wanting her to pick Peter. They had such great chemistry and clearly cared for each other. I don’t think there is right or wrong here. Just two people with incompatible views on how to approach love. I’m happy that Rachel found what she was looking for, and I hope Peter finds the same.

After watching this again I am certain Rachel is not keeping it 💯 In all of these interviews. No one cries like that over someone they did not love. It's actually heartbreaking 😩 I know she wanted to be engaged and it's possible things may not have worked out with Peter, but I wish she just would've gave herself more time.

So....here I am, a month later, here to say that Rachel made the right choice. She is enjoying "her best life" with a man who came on the show fighting hard for her heart, BRYAN. Good job Rachel, you used your brains!

We always want, fight for, and act emotional over men we can't have. That's what happened here. Rachel knew she had Bryan's commitment so her focus was redirected to Peter, who she should have sent home.

love is not just a feeling, it is a choice and a commitment. it's saying 'even after the excitement and infatuation are gone, i will still support, respect, and stand with you.' i think a lot of people fail to understand this

I see Peter's point. It's only been 2 months and that too in a fantasy type of setting. If it were only 2 months in a normal life setting, then maybe he could be ready to propose, but he's not sure what life would look like with her in the real world and he needed time to explore that. It doesn't mean his feelings for her are less. I feel like she chose Bryan just to get a proposal.

They both backed each other in a corner. They were too stuck in their heads about past experiences and one not having enough time and the other expecting so much in so little time. It's sad because I truly believe they would have made a great couple. Even though Rachel claims now she would have picked Bryan anyways, I believe there's still a part of her that wanted Peter to be more than willing to propose. I am still shocked it's not Peter, but at the end of the day this is about what Rachel wants and she wanted someone who was sure and ready for marriage. Peter seems like a lot of women's ideal man which is why he is so favored and why so many women are upset that Rachel didn't choose him over a proposal. I think Peter needs to figure things out for himself and not jump in to possibly being the next bachelor.

You know what the irony( if I can call it that)in all of this is. That we saw a journey to love between Rachel and Peter from the beginning to the very end which includes the breakup. The final rose ceremony in my opinion is to solidify the love story between two people. But I felt like the break up did that instead. It showed us even when they were on the verge of a spilt the love was so intense. To me that break up was the final rose ceremony. It just ended in heart break (I hope it makes sense to whoever reads this). Because we felt all the emotions that is suppose to be felt at the final rose ceremony in this scene even though it was sad. So it gives me some joy to know that what we witnessed throughout this season between rachel and peter was real feelings up until the very end. And pls don't say it was editing because cameras can't fake emotions (unless producers was telling rachel to ball her eyes out😅😅😅) which i doubt they did. what the camera did was capture real moments. Ok I'm done😊

It’s 2021 and I’ve never seen a breakup like in my life!!! This shit was real! No one can tell me otherwise!!!!

From her first interaction with Bryan, it was clear that he was the one for Rachel. Anyone coming with this bullshit that she “chose the ring over true love” or anything similar is dumb. She had more with Bryan in my opinion and just because it was hard to let Peter go, that doesn’t mean she felt more for him. At the end of the day, him not knowing what he wanted at that point doesn’t mean like some of you are saying that in a bit after the show ended he’d propose. She went with her gut and I’m glad. Her and Bryan are better together than her and Peter ever were or ever would be. Also the fact that her and Bryan are still together proves it is something real while who knows if her and Peter would even still be dating let alone engaged at this point.
