To my knowledge, the show wasn't canceled. It was because Rachel Bilson got pregnant and she no longer wished to play the role but rather focus on raising her baby.

I LOVE HER TO PIECES! The OC was my jam and she was my fave! Hart of Dixie was such a good show, even my boyfriend was obsessed! Anyway, how dare you guys not make her talk about JUMPER(2008). That movie was lowkey good and she MET HER BABY DADDY, mr Star Wars?!?! Come ooon!

It was actually a very popular show back when it aired. It was also seen as a pop cultural phenomenon. I remember when the show got cancelled because of lower ratings there was a petition with more than 600,000 signatures. Back then, that was a lot.

@@jessikathornell8555 That is not true. The shows you are talking about (Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place) were all aired in the '90's. 90210 (the reboot of Beverly Hills 90210) debuted in 2008. And shows like Laguna Beach and The Hills were reality television shows which were aired a bit later and were also viewed differently. Do not compare reality shows with television programs, because they are both totally different productions.
