Hi guyss!!!!!!! Today I'm coming at you with a classic Thrift Haul! It feels like forever since I've done one of these hahaha, I had a lot of fun just talking through how I plan these outfits. I wanted to show a little bit more about how I mix my already-existing vintage items with new-to-me thrifted "modern" items. I hope it's helpful and that you like this format!

Rachel Maksy *nifty tip* you can make the back part of the tie (the narrow part) longer than usual so that once it’s tied the front part (the wide part) is short and to the desired length then just tuck the back part in your shirt between a couple of buttons.

Tie option: tie it so that the skinny tail is extra long and the fat part is short. Hide skinny tail in shirt by tucking between chest buttons. Period correct + short tie ✅

Gem thrift store find: I live in the Pacific Northwest and I recently went to our thrift store and found a triangle shawl made in the Republic of Ireland(I assume it is from the 70’s). It is pure linen hand loomed. Paid $8 for it

I went to a vintage clothing shop (don't know why it is called a vintage shop because it was more like a slightly more up there in price Clothing Thrift store) and I found my PERFECT leather trench coat! I am 5'3 and have a medium frame so typically every leather trench coat I find drags the ground or is just too large to be comfortable. WELL I found a trench coat that perfectly hits the middle of my calves and is a size Medium! It was like $40 which is up there for me but I HAD to get it! I have now realized my dream of looking like Spike from Buffy the vampire slayer because the coat is nearly identical to his! I love thrifting!

Good choices! I like this format - it shows how terrific it is to have a strict colour palette range. Also amazed how your belts consistently add a vintage feel to the whole outfit.

I loved this chance to see how your thought process works as you style your finds. There were a couple of times you were giving off "My Girl Friday" vibes. Then you changed an element of like trousers to skirt and it was "Anne of Green Gables" which was so cool. It just shows how choosing the right piece can alter the whole outfit.

you don't need a shorter tie, you can just tie it in such a way that the wide end falls where you like it. then tuck the skinny end into your shirt between the buttons

I've had great luck with finding wool skirts, suits, and coats at my local thrift stores. Vintage Pendleton and such. My favorite find is a 1950s shot tafetta strapless prom dress. It was perfect for a swing dance event last year, when social dances were a thing!

I loved seeing your thought process behind each outfit. When putting together a vintage inspired outfit, I usually get overwhelmed by all the possibilities and just ditch the whole thing and go jeans and tshirt. Seeing someone else try different things before an outfit comes together and questioning some pieces is really encouraging.

I never thought it could be so handy having one colour palette of a wardrobe until I found your channel. Now I am like gonna throw away half of my clothes, narrow it down to just my favourite colours and build my wardrobe on those... everyday mornings are going to be much more pleasant I guess...
